    Peaceful park
Peaceful spot in the middle of Bangalore. Grounds start in dry out but lake still impressive. Unfortunately missed flower show in glass house but bamboo elephants a major part of the exhibit still present.

Lalbagh Botonical Garden very easy to reach. It's a big garden with lots of trees and lush green field. from different countries. The glass house is very interesting and the flowers were well planned. Even the rock is there. We sat there for an hour and it really relaxing

    Lalbagh gardens
Lalbagh garden is definitely one of the top highlights while visiting Bangalore. You can access it by metro train. The entry ticket for the gardens is Rs 30 for adult. The gardens are huge and has a great collection of old trees and flowering plants. To add to the beauty is a lake. While a board says that eating is not allowed within the park- but there are a few kiosks selling bhel puri and fruit chat. Since the govt is charging tickets, one expects it to be better maintained especially the grass is growing wildly. Keep an hour aside for walking around. It’s better to come here around 4 pm when it’s cooler. There are lots of benches for sitting around.

    Gardens in Bangalore…the garden city
Lal Bagh Botanical Gardens, also known as Lalbagh, is a botanical garden in Bangalore with over 200 years of history. The gardens span 240 acres, and I recommend taking a motorized cart for 100 rupees. Some trees are up to 200 years old!

    Amidst Nature
The botanical garden must visit. take a E- car which costs 100 rs per person and the guide takes 10 rs pp. Nice hill to sit and have a city view with good photo background. Multiple trees and flora is available to see.

    Quite Getaway
This is a quite place during the weekdays and bustling in the weekends. We would recommend that you go weekdays to enjoy a quite walk and snack at the same time. Went with my 6 year old and he had lots of fun climbing the little hill at the entrance. Please ensure to carry a water bottle as the prices here are double the MRP. Overall spent time 2 hours which seems a decent time to spend walking the entire stretch.

Beautiful British glass house, rare flowers and beautiful trees. Small Shops were you can enjoy candies salty mangoes and many more. Take family photos in beautiful scenery. Enjoy fresh breeze there.

    Amazing place to spend time
Try and bring exact change as you'll find the usual curse of India....staff claim there's no change. Rs80 each to get in, give Rs200 for Rs40 change....staff open the draw where there's lots of Rs10 &Rs20 and she looks at me and says no change Sir.... We had a choice not to enter or let her pocket the Rs40. Plastic bottles are not allowed inside and this is enforced. Free water points throughout though. When we got in it was worth every single rupee. Thoroughly enjoyed walking through all the areas and were lucky enough to visit when there was a flower show, which was nothing less than spectacular. One of the best places were visited in Bangalore. Highly recommended

This place was green, serene and calm as it was a botanical park, but the problem was with the infrastructure. We had to wait long for their electric vehicle which charges 100/person for the inside tour, as personal cars are not allowed. Water was not available inside and you are not allowed to carry your bottle because plastic is banned there. So better advised to carry a steel bottle with you. When asked the guard, he said August is the best time to visit this place as they decorate it for 15th Aug. So 13-15th Aug is the best time to visit if you are a tourist not student.

Lalbagh Botanical Garden is an botanical garden in Bangalore, India, with an over 200-year history. Lalbagh is a 240 acres garden. It has a lake , lotus ponds ,rose garden, park and a glass house.
From Flower show point of view , the glass house is the best part otherwise there is not much to enjoy as such. Plays and music events take place during the evening in local language. The campus is huge. Lot of walking which is a healthy activity in today's world. Management need to focus more on the landscaping and beautification of the campus .
There are lots of start ups who put up shops here selling plants , flowers , gardening/landscaping services , bonsai plant etc. I found one startup selling bottled water having high alkaline value and Vitamin B12 ,Brand Name is "Fusion Mont Cool"

Was built by the founder of Bengaluru - His Highness Sir Kempegowda.

It is a very big Park, which would take more than two hours to go around. This park is considered pride of Bangalore (now called Bengaluru).

It is very well maintained, is neat & clean except for the area where the visitors throw their rubbish after eating snacks.

Enjoy the Glass House, Bonsai park, Fossil tree, horticulture park, Glass house, cactus garden, wood carvings on trees etc.

If you are first time visitor, it is suggested to take help of a guide to understand the history and importance of all monuments, trees, parks, lake etc in & around the Lal Bagh. The good guide will cost you Rs.150 to Rs. 200 only!

We were informed that they host annual flower exhibition during the month of August. It is worth visiting.

One can buy some coffee, spices, pickles, wooden toys etc. at reasonable price – the products of local cottage industries encouraged by the Government.

Early morning visit gives a more sweet pleasure and relaxation. Take a bus or metro or go with your own conveyance. We found lot of parking area available.

One should not forget to walk to the top of Gneiss Rock and the 14th century shrine cloak tower at the top.

The guides here have a scam operation going on where they will try to inflate the price stated initially. They will actually provide a rushed tour but then demand the extra money at the end. There is additionally a scam about seeds where the price at the end is inflated to a ridiculous amount. I was asked for payment in a specific place where I was then pickpocketed.

Avoid these people if you choose to visit this area.

The gardens are nice but if you use a guide you will be robbed and it will ruin the experience for you.

I wish I’d read the previous poster’s review before visiting!
My driver dropped me at the entrance and a guide immediately came to offer his service. I agreed to pay half (!) of what he was asking, which was still way over the top. My driver said I should do the payment when I got back to the car. Glad I did, the guide told me twice before we got back to the car that I should pay him. I didn’t fall for the seeds scam (don’t bring seeds from abroad without a certificate!!) but I met the ‘manager’ of the nursery who wanted Rs650 per seeds packet.
The guide then said we walked for 1,5 hrs (we didn’t) and demanded more money. My driver handled this for me but this was a very unpleasant experience.

Added value of guide: he knew all the names of the trees. Can you enjoy the botanical garden without a guide and knowing the names of the trees ? Yes! Even as a solo traveller. There are plenty of people waking around.

My tip: DO NOT take a guide.

We went to the park today, we paid our 30 Rs entry fee only to find the waterfall was not working. The rose garden was closed. The cacti house was closed. The green house conservatory was closed. The hibiscus garden closed. The bonsai garden mostly closed. We were very disappointed. The place would be lovely if most things were not closed. This was not because it was a certain day, these places obviously had not been open lately and were not ready to be open again anytime soon. Most were just bare earth.
Poor show for a botanical experience.

Went back to Lalbagh after ages and it was such a pleasant experience. Of-course the nice monsoon weather in Bangalore made the experience more nice. Adule ticket for Rs 30, children for Rs 10 and a parking ticket of Rs 50 at the gate and you are set. There is a battery vehicle available similar to how we have in zoo's or national parks to take folks around but I and my 8 year old decided to walk and just soak in the nature. Beautiful garden - lots of interesting things to explore. Take a snap of the map at the entrance on your phone and just follow the path to every corner. With so much greenery, never seen before trees, birds chirping, squirrels running helter/skelter and the beautiful lake and lotus pond. It was a well spent 2 to 3 hours here.

The botanical garden does not have many flowers to show in April due to the dry season, but the visit was still worthwhile. There are beautiful and old trees, a lake, monkeys to see. It is a green oasis of tranquillity, where one meets families, couples, groups of friends who enjoy the park. The entrance fee of 30 rupees is also valid for foreigners (mostly foreigners pay 300 rupees when locals pay 25).

Make sure you bring enough water, but you can buy fruits, ice creams, softdrinks. You can bring a blanket to lie down on the grass.

It is not allowed to take photos with a camera (there are commercial photographers on site), but it is possible with a mobile phone.

At the entrance/exit we could not find any tuc tuc driver willing to use his tariff meter, they all want to negotiate a fixed price, we found that very annoying! They missed the deal, we ordered an Uber.

Poorly managed park. Not enough signage. One gets inside and then there are no maps or signs to indicate your location or directions to other attractions in the park. The government is only concerned about collecting their entry fees and that's it. Would not recommend this park to anyone.

Literally the highest natural point in the city, the botanic garden is a delight. Accessible by tuc tuc or taxi, it is cheap to get in. 25 rupees each to get in. We then paid 150 rupees each for an hour's walking tour which was sufficient to get the lay of the land. Highlights were as follows: 2 public loos with pans, running water and soap; ancient trees that completely change the atmosphere when you are near them; kites/birds of prey that bath in the lake; chipmunks everywhere; monkeys; the waterfall which happens at specific times of day; the rose garden. There are food and drink stalls around the park which is nice. Beware the wild dogs who like to snooze in the shade. They only bark when disturbed. The view over the city from the Hindu shrine was brill. This gatden waseasy to get to, cheap to visit and extremely good value for money. Its a dream for anyone who is into nature and wildlife. Beware the guides vlosest to the gates as they were most expensive. We paid 150 rupees each and the guide (Raj) was lovely and seemed very knowledgable. Some guides were asking 250 each for an hours guide. Also beware to limit the time spent. The guides will require more if you run over time. We stuck to the hour and gave a tip on top because we were pleased. Also be aware that locals will ask for selfies, ask questions and photograph and video you without asking. Everyone is however very polite but its something to be aware of if you are a shy type of person.
