Divine Shiva temple engraved out in a cave with amazing architecture. Such a divine experience and one has to be a little careful if with senior citizens or smaller kids as it requires some bending and careful move to avoid hitting your head or slipping. It may be as hot as it can be outside but inside it's a cooler environment. Parking is again on the street outside.

On 3rd July'22, myself along with my parents & cutie pie got to visit Sri Gavi Gangadheeswarar temple located at Gavipuram, Bengaluru.
It is an ancient temple built by Kempe Gowda with the presiding deity as Lord Shiva engraved out in a cave with amazing architecture. The temple yard is adorned with large monolithic sculptures. The temple also stands as an example of Indian rock-cut architecture.
Other deities available in the temple are Lord Vinayaka, Subramanya, Uma Maheswara, Durga devi, Dakshinamurthy, Navagrahas etc., We had a very pleasant, blissful evening at this temple with the blessings of Lord Shiva.

One of the ancient temples in karnataka. very ideally located in the garden city. Despite the urbanisation, the temple and its surroundings have been very well maintained. the sun rays on the makara sankranthi 14th january every speaks of the architectural beauty of this ancient temple. They say that openings were there in the caves to reach Shivaganga near tumkur and even to varanasi. We should appreciate the architects of those days with no modern equipments and IT technic. Hats off to all those people.

A must for every Shiv bhakt. This was one of the best experiences I ever had. And when they adorn the Shivlingam with flowers it is like seeing the grace of Shiva. Tip: Go on Mondays around 7 in the morning to experience the Abishek, it will change u. And pay your respect to the MahaRishis in the cave.

Perhaps this is one of the wonderful temple in Bangalore.
On the eve of Sankranthi every year when the sun changes his planetary movement, he takes the blessing of Gavi Gangadhareswara by prostrating on the Linga through Nandi with his rays. This has been happening since ages. And the beauty is, this is a cave and imagine rays entering in a cave !

Very famous Siva temple of 18 th century and famous for the annual celestial event on 14 th January when the sun rays reach the idol on the deity. Most astonishing part of the temple are the mysterious Discs in the front part of the temple. No importance given nor any inscriptions available in English about the great engineering marvel in the temple, it is understood that these two were engineered and erected in such a way, shadow of one disc totally covers the other one on the days of 22 nd June and 22 nd December during sunset and sunrise respectively. This is an astronomical event called Solstice and Summer solstice only now visible due to vegetation on eastern side. Great engineering marvel and may plan in the week covering June 22 for verifying this. Temple is closed between 1230 and 5 pm.

The temple is located inside a cave. You need to bend and walk around the garbaguddi inside the temple. The temple is one of the oldest temple and gives you a very relaxing feel whenever you visit the temple. During makara sankranthi the setting sun rays fall on the diety and it is considered very auspicious. This place can be in your itinerary during visit to Bangalore.

A beautiful temple dedicated to Ganesh (the Elephant god). It is as interesting to watch the local people as it is to watch the temple itself

This a Shiva temple. With amazing architecture made back in olden days. Once a year sun rays fall directly on Shiva idol which is truly amazing. Archeologist tell that the secret tunnels inside the temple connected two parts of the city..
