About
The Neo-Dravidian-style Vidhana Soudha is the seat of the state legislature while the red Attara Kacheri houses the High Court. In 2005, an annex called the Vikas Soudha was inaugurated, designed as an exact replica of the Vidhana Soudha. Though these buildings cannot be visited, they can be viewed from the outside.

The area
Neighbourhood: Cubbon Park
In the heart of the city’s business hub is Bangalore’s most favourite garden. Cubbon
Park is a beautifully maintained 120-hectare garden where all the local residents of the city take a break. A landmark ‘lung’ area of Bengaluru, the gardens are dotted with a lot of colonial heritage and charm, which are today a part of the state capital’s political centre. Home to the red-painted Gothic style State Central Library, the magnificent Vidhan Souda built in Mysore Neo-Dravidian architectural style, the neoclassical Attara Kacheri built in 1864 and housing the High Court, oldest museums and GPO in its vicinity, a trip to Cubbon Park is a great heritage walk. Sundays at the park are quite a treat with a plethora of activities to choose from - concerts, fun runs, yoga, tiny farmers market, the list is endless.

I always wanted to come here on my visit to Bengaluru. I think that this is a must visit place. Big, splendid and grandeur are the right words for the same. I could correlate to many Hindi film shootings that had been done here in the past .

of Karnataka Government and Legislative assembly, in Bangalore. It was identified as Attara Kacheri since the ‘eighteen offices’ of the state government were functioning there during the period of maharaja of Mysore. It is a two storied building in red colour said to be in the Graeco-Roman style of architecture. This building was constructed during the period of Rao Bahadur Arcot Narayanaswami Mudaliar (1868) then Diwan of Maharaja. The name Attara Kacheri came to it when the eighteen departments of state government like revenue secretariat were shifted to it.

Locals call it Suvarna Vidhan Soudha (Sabha). I saw it at night and really enjoyed its golden view ! It is just opposite Dr. Ambedkar metro station. It can be seen from inside in day time.

It's the legislative assembly of the Govt. of Karnataka and its possible to visit when the assembly is in session (following proper procedure). Other than than you can always have an external round of the premises.
Attara Kacheri is the High Court of Karnataka so you can.
