About
KR Market is a busy, vibrant and crowded market in the heart of the city. Go early in the morning to watch fresh vegetables and flowers arrive for the day. A photographer’s delight, this market whips up a frenzy especially before important religious festivals.

The place is not what you would be looking for in terms of authentic Indian experience. There is nothing interesting to see there . It is not even close to Turkish or Arabic bazaars . Dirty , crowded and sells nothing of interest for tourists . Stick to Commercial street .

This is a nice metro station, located underground and at a very famous and crowded location. K R market is famous for many businesses and some visiting spots like tippu sulthan palace and Bangalore fort. Nearby there is a bmtc stand as well for bus transportation. Restroom is available and well maintained.

I came here as part of a walking tour of Bengaluru. The KR Market is a local market that sells all sorts of stuff, but it’s primarily known for being THE flower market in Bengaluru. Although there are still shops selling the usual kitchenware, groceries, chai shops etc.
However, the flower sellers dominate the KR Market. The place is really busy, but it felt like good fun walking through the whole flower sellers and those interestingly through the sellers who sell by the length. The latter seem to have their own section in the middle of the market and you can even watch them has they make pretty garlands and bouquets. A fun way to see local culture.

Shabby, crowded, dirty streets, cows all over, and wonderful. This is the great flower market of the city and there are gorgeous piles and coils of flowers of every color, rooms of them. We took dozens of photos, just beautiful. Any auto-rickshaw driver will take you there for a buck. We think it was the highlight of Bangalore.

Any crowded market in India is an experience - KR Market is no exception. However, like a trip to any market, it can become overwhelming. I would keep it short and recommend going with a local if you are a foreign tourist.

This place just the Kind of colorful assault on the senses that a traveler expects when visiting India. From the flowers to the spices and vegetables this is as local as it gets. It's a must-visit location when in Bengaluru.

A visit to KR Market is an absolute must of you are in Bengaluru. This is a very traditional market where the sights, sounds and smells are just incredible.
I should say that my hotel taxi driver said that it was a dangerous place which put me a little on edge, but I was OK. Mostly people ignored me or younger ones just wanted to say hi.
Do go though, you won't regret it

I visited this place for a few hours and got taken away by it's simplicity. It is a place where as a photographer you will be able to take very nice street photography type of shots.
Depending of the area where you are in or around the market the smells are from very pleasant to disgusting and vice versa.
If it is a rainy season don't go in sneakers :) take a serious boot it tends to get muddy and filthy after rain.

After reading the previous review, I would believe that it would depend very much on the individual's preference regarding attractions. I had just paid a visit to KR Market earlier today and honestly despite the crowded mess the place was, I really enjoyed myself there (my only intention was to take photos there) and I really hope to go back there again, probably later in the day to see what kinds of stalls/shops would be open.
There were many stalls selling mountains of vegetables and of course as one explores deeper, one would enter the flower market. For a foreigner like me, it was really an amazing sight to see baskets and mountains of different sorts of flowers being sold (the roses were exceptionally beautiful, both in colour and shape).

K R Market (Krishna Rajendra Market), or City Market is one of the largest wholesale market for Bangalore. Its named after Krishnarajendra Wodeyar, a former ruler of the princely state of Mysore. The place is heavily crowded and could be slippery. One could find the Best quality fruits and Flowers in Bangalore.

Is the kr flower market for tourists from Europe or America (white people), a dangerous place to visit?
Written 16 November 2018
I would assume normal dangers of crowded areas... pocket pickers etc

What is the best time in the morning to reach there? What time does the market open?
Written 6 January 2018
I don't know the exact time they open. However, I would get there by 7am for photography. If you want to buy fresh flowers/veggies and such this would also be ideal, but you may also go by 8am.
I arrived around 10:30am and things were still very busy, but many vendors were already sold out or nearly sold out of their fresh stuff (or very picked over).
Note that the entire area surrounding the KR market building has tons of vendors. Regardless of how you get there, you will see this.

No parking. There is street parking available but it is usually taken.
I would highly recommend Uber if you are a non-local (tourist). This proved very convenient.

What would be the best time to visit for photographing this area.
Written 18 November 2017
No other time than the morning. You could go early and stay until late morning.
Vendors will have fresh veggies and flowers then. It will be busy then as well.
Happy shooting.
