Timing are so funny for Musical fountain and staff there treat Tourist as outsider, its more for local people. Al park close by 6 but fountain start by 7.30, so nothing to do, most of fountain are close. Tourist dont waste time going there

dam , built over krishna river, with the new aesthetically constructed tunnels and fly-overs make it a beautiful site to visit almatti. prefer visiting there in the mornings or late evenings , as outside temperature may be soaring.still lots of improvement needed.

Nowadays they dont really allow people to go near the dam site. Special permission is required to go near it. But the gardens are neatly maintained. When you are with the kids and a big family you can spend a few hours in these gardens.

The dam is a sight to see with beautiful gardens and musical fountains. The musical fountain show is held every evening at 7:30 PM and entry is charged at Rs 10 per person. The whole area is aesthetically built and maintained clean and tidy. It is good for a days visit and the area lacks any reasonably good hotels for night stay. There are two hotels but not for family groups and not maintained. carry your own snacks and water bottle while visiting the gardens. Toilet facilities are available. The experience can be much better, if organised group visit to the top of the dam are also permitted. Authorities may consider this as we have to come out of dranconian perceptions of security and make more such areas open to public, may be under strict watch.

The garden near Alamatti Dam is vast and well maintained. I never expected in north karnataka a garden like this. It was a good attempt to replicate KRS garden. It has musical fountain show evening and boating facility. Good place to spend an evening.

We timed to see this dam during rainy season wo see the water flow .But unfortunatly the day we went gates were closed. However we had a view from train on previous day.But still we saw the water in the dam and two excellent gardens moghul and rock garden. It was really amazing and I dont know why government has not propogated much about these gardens.A must see on an Almatti visit.Understand that there is light and musical fountain show in the evening which we could not see .

The Alamatti dam is named after India's one of the earlier prime minister Shri Lalo Bahaddur Shatri. The name of dam is Lal Bahaddur Shatri Sagar.

The Almatti Dam is the main reservoir of the Upper Krishna Irrigation Project. The dam is located on the edge of Bijapur and Bagalkot districts. There are two small gardens situated near dam named lav Kush and Krishna garden. All age people can have a good fun time here. We can enjoy the musical fountain there in the evening. Boating facility also available in a pond at the entrance of rock garden. Rock garden is a beautiful and very big one with different kinds of birds, animals, landscapes, lakes etc. Kids really love this place. At the entrance of Dam some good hotels and restaurants are available for food and stay.

Very good place to stay overnight and see both sunset and sunrise. a morning walk in the dam is so good you can see beautiful sights of flocks of birds flying just above you.. and the small lighthouse like man made structure is a good view too.

And it has a huge musical fountain right on the way to the dam.. they've maintained the surroundings really neat and tidy. Worth the visit
