We are local tour operators from Leh Ladakh India specialize in all kind of trekking, wild life tour ( specially Snow Leopard and Birding ) cultural tour. Phunchok TSERING founded Exotic Travel in 2003 with a vision to provide better infrastructure in tourism industry and to help promote Eco-tourism practices. After my Graduation pursue a career in Tourism by having traveled and trekking extensively throughout country for many years. I perfected myself in French Language and decided to open his own Travel Company. Exotic Travel are now specialize in Cultural, Wildlife, trekking and Jeep safaris in Ladakh and in India.Our motto is to provided quality service with personal touch.

We just finished our Ladakh Wildlife Expeditions with Mr. Phunchok Tsering and his efficient Team. I don't mind or even care about the quality of photos I could capture, but simply the very presence, their running, the grace, the demography of their habitats,, and the ace skill and dedication of our guide (Mr. Punchok Tsering and his Team), will be etched in my mind for the lifetime. Excellent hospitality, Food and Stay.
Thanks to all the members of the Team of Exotic Travel for enduring me 🙏🏻🙏🏻 taking up the hardships of the tough traveling, the High altitude challenges.
It's all going to be remembered for the rest of my life. God bless you!

Phunchok is a great organizer who met our requests and fit the various changes we imposed. We spent first week around Leh focusing on monasteries and closeby mountains. Second week we discovered Nubra and Shyok valleys. Followed by Pangong lake (stunning) and Tso Kar and Tso Moriri (spectacular and remote). we had the chance to watch 2 festivals (both rich in colors and local audiences).

I just finished a short snow leopard safari with Phunchok. I ended up seeing a snow leopard on my first attempt. I know that this is unusual, but it happened. I love the homestay that he set up. If you want to see a snow leopard, contact Phunchok at Exotic Travel,

Phunchok put together a good plan for our clients at Birdwing Photo Tours for high-altitude birding and bird photography along with great locations to stay and food.

I was fortunate enough to choose exotic travel for my Leh visit.me n my 6 other frndz were fully satisfied with the Hospitality provided to us..PHUNCHOK(OWNER), driver & the guide(STANZIN) were also very friendly and cooperating...!! So frm me thumbs up for EXOTIC TRAVEL AGENCY OF LEH !!

After a lifetime of travelling around the world ( I am 69 years old), I consider myself a reasonably seasoned traveller. These visits I have meticulously planned and executed myself, not really trusting others with my itnerary or the details of administration. However, when planning a visit to Kashmir, I was a little apprehensive, of both the political situation and working out an itinerary. For the first time ever, I employed an agent, Alihabib Travel, to make all my bookings. I did so rather doubting that my own high standards of planning could possibly be met.
However, Younis at Alihabib, met all my expectations and indeed exceeded them. His planning was immaculate, and really detailed, down to rnedezvous for taxis, packed breakfasts for early starts and always with my interests at heart. I was treated less as a tourist, more as a guest to his country, someone to be looked after with care and consideration. The encompassed the planning stage, where he made useful and practical suggestions about my itinerary, so as to get the best out of my limited time, through to always contacting me at each new location to ensure all arrangements were working well, and to make any adjustments I needed. Our relationship was more like that of friends or close family. Money was never the focus of Younis, just my comfort and an interesting, informative visit to his country. That relationship developed into a friendship, and friends are always willing to go that little bit further for each other. I came across three other people who work for Younis, as guides and a driver, and was delighted to note that he had instilled in them his philosophy of putting the customer first,, and gave me a wonderful time.
I first visited Leh in Ladakh, and cycled down from the Kargungla Pass, without pedalling once! I also visited the Palace, Bazaar and various Monasteries. Next was Srinagar and a stay on a houseboat with daily visits to the sights of that city. Next a few days in Pahalgam and a chance to walk in the alpine meadows and visit higher locations on horseback. Finally a day trip to Gulmarg to ascend the mountain up above the snow line in a gondola. Blessed with clear skies I was able to oberve the K2 mountain, over 75 miles away. On all of my visits I was overwhelmed by the friendliness of the Kashmiri people. Yes I was a source of intense curiosity to them, but always with a smile and a natural interest in my opinions of Kashmir.
I wish that all businessmen were as pricipalled and honest as Younis. The world would be a much better place. If you want to place youself in the hands of another to plan and execute your visit to Kashmir, then you can do no better than to go to Younis at Alihabib Travel. He has a deep pride and love of his country, which he wishes to share with others.
I felt, and indeed was, safer in Kashmir, despite all the press reports, than travelling across London on the underground at night! Do visit it. It is like a piece of Paradise on earth, and in Younis you can have a guardian angel on your journey.

I visited leh-Ladakh back in August 2016. But the memories are still very fresh only because of Exotic Travels. Phunchok(owner of exotic Ladakh) and Stanzin were very helpful throughout the trip. The itinerary was very well planned and we completed the whole trip without any hustle and bustle. The accommodations provided were excellent considering the budget we had given.
I was there for 18 days and I never missed my home. I would definitely recommend traveling with them.

We did a trek with exotic travel in summer time. Everything was just perfect: our guide Rigzin took real good care of us,the meals prepared by the cook, the materiel for camping, the itinerary, We felt really safe with them. These people are just amazing and generous. We recommend strongly to discover Laddak and its area with them. Very grateful to have met so wonderful people.

We had an incredible experience succesfully trekking the World's most elusive and fantastic cat, the Snow Leopard. Exotic Travel organized an incredible trip for us, paying attention not only to increase our chances for the impossible (finding a needle in the haystag), but also to make our expedition as comfortable as possible in the hostile environment. This trip was undoubtedly the berst experience in our life!

Exotic Travel organised my Snow Leopard expedition and they did it flawlessly. Phunchok was a pleasure to deal with, he made all the arrangements and was also willing to change things as we went along to keep me and the group happy. We were warm, had plenty to eat, great guides and we saw Snow Leopards! I don't hesitate to recommend them.

What level of physical shape should one be in before taking this trip? How much altitude gain is there each day?

Visiting Tso Kar from Leh is a half day drive, all but the last few kilometres on good paved road. Once at Tso Kar, the terrain is flat and with a jeep you can drive around the network of dirt tracks surrounding the lake, so you don't need any level of physical fitness.
Leh is at 3,500m, and Tso Kar is at 4,650m. The drive from Leh crosses a 5,200m pass. It's therefore important to acclimatise in Leh for at least 2 nights before driving to Tso Kar.
I believe that physical fitness has no bearing on whether you are susceptible to altitude sickness, so just being out of shape isn't really an issue, but obviously if you have any medical conditions you should seek medical advice.
