It is quite far from the other touristy areas of Srinagar but worth going if you want to pray there. Non-muslims and Women are allowed inside provided you follow the dress code. Women pray in an area separate from that of men as in the case of most mosques.

I have been to this place with my wife this december'2021 and the view is just awesome with the flying pegions. I have spend approximately 1.5 hours there and the place has given me a pleasant experience. Please do visit this place once you are at Srinagar. It is beside Dal lake so you can enjoy the view there too.

You can reach here by cab or by shikara. Choose as per your choice.

Visited in April 2012. A truly divine destination. There is so much peace here. Your mind gets relaxed. Some co tourists even said that prayers are answered here. It happened for them at least. So ask something with pure heart and it should get answered! People of all faiths visit here. One can get beautiful view of the mountains and Dal from the back side of the Mosque.

A must visit divine destination!

Out of 3 holy relics Sacred hair of Prophet, Sacred Turban of Hazrat Ali and Saddle of Hazrat Ali's horse, the Sacred hair of Prophet is kept here. Since then it came to be known as Hazratbal shrine. A must visit for believers and non believers also.

This is a shrine of Hasratbal. One cannot take pictures from inside but its a beauty from outside....with hundreds of pigeons in the backdrop of a mosque with muslim devotees in different postures in the presence of the army. Its amazing! This place is in the old city area & one gets to see the real Kashmir. It is lined with shops of grocery & everyday life. It is better to take your driver along as he would be able to communicate in their language & access would be easy.

the kids would love the experience of feeding the pigeons here. I enjoyed visiting this holy place. There is ban on non-Muslims entering the main prayer area, as long as its not the prayer time. meditated for a short while here and it was so peaceful and energizing at the same time.

This mosque was interesting to visit as you go through the old town to get there. I have seen more interesting mosques before. As a woman I could not go inside which is disappointing. It is right on the lake which is nice.

The title was quoted by one of the residents of Srinagar and this place is holy for the followers of Islam. As a tourist, this place was beautiful and has nice surroundings overlooking the dal lake. Women are not allowed during the shrine and non-followers are not allowed inside during the Namaz. As from what I have heard, hair of the Prophet is on display for a couple of specific dates in a given year.
