Lovely, calm & clean premium houseboats on the other side of Dal Lake...however recently it is becoming a nuisance with over-crowding of holiday makers & too many motorboats on the lake

This is a second biggest lake in Srinagar and is less crowded than Dal lake. We stayed in a houseboat in this lake and it was a nice stay.

As all other tourists and travelers, we wanted to experience the stay in a house boat. On researching more about this, got to know that dal lake is really crowded and it would be a better choice to stay here at Nigeen Lake. And I would say, we did not regret this decision of ours. We had a peaceful and calm stay at Nigeen Lake. I would say this is one of the best sunset points. Highly recommend over Dal lake.

Its better than dal lake in terms of quietness and commercialization. Will recommend for a shikahra ride and if not wanting vendors one can tell the boatman to tell them not to come

An extension of the Great Dal lake, but not as crowded as it's parent. So, worth staying here for a quiet but beautiful experience of the lake and the surroundings along with houseboat. One can take a Shikara ride to roam around this lake or even visit Dal lake, but that will take longer time. So, better to visit the Dal lake separately as time permits.

Adjacent to Dal Lake & Hazratbal dargah this is the younger cousin of Dal..less touristy but high on character. The houseboats are a class apart.

One can choose to stay in houseboat on west banks of Nigeen lake instead of Dal lake. it will give you better views of himalaya ... and its calm than dal lake..
