After houseboats and the mountains, it is the moghul gardens for which Kashmir is most famous. But sadly except Shalimar Baag and Noishant Garden, you can skip other gardens. These two gardens are largest and may take a half day for properly explore. Lovely chinar trees increases the beauty of these gardens, add to the view of Dal Lake which are lacking at other gardens.

We had heard so much about the great Mughal gardens but they were frankly a a tad underwhelming. There was construction going on, the flowers were sporadic. The only high point were the majestic chinar trees.

Visited in July. The Gardens are extremely crowded, people bathing and swimming in the water fountains and pools. So much Trash everywhere despite signs. Such a poor sight to see! Would not recommend. Skip it.

This garden was full of people as this is one of the most visited attraction in Srinagar. We went there in evening as it was hot in day time but in evening it’s blissful with family.

Achabal Mughal Garden was built by mughal emperor Jahangir for his wife.
It is the largest Mughal garden in India.
The tourists can wear the traditional dress of kashmiri girls and get clicked with pictures. Even this is a good spot for photo shoots.

a garden which finds a mention in textbooks of our times, is worth a visit. its huge, sitting magnificiently at the banks of Dal lake. its potentials needs to be exploited. this is another such tourist spot which appears to have been neglected by the concerned authorities. the lush green lawns are no more lush. visitors have crushed the lawns by walking on them. the fountains need to be looked into . cleanliness is one more aspect requiring full attention. one could have more flowering plants which grow effortlessly in this region. if things are done, i am sure this would be the eden gardens of heaven

It is proposed that more beautification is needed than these gardens as years ago the work was done . Now private party has been given the task of making it more attractive and sustainable. The garden definitely requires a modern touch but it's historic values should remain intact. A must see place for every tourist's Srinagar diary and album
