It is far from Srinagar. Almost 70 km near bandipoora. Road condition was bad and very few travelers was there. Moreover you can not directly access the lake. You have to view it from the Wular lake vintage point. It is a large lake but not so beautiful like other lakes in Srinagar. You can avoid it easily.

A largely uninhabited lake, Wular never ceases to invigorate my senses. Vantage point on way to Bandipora offers a spellbinding view of the largest fresh water lake in India

One of the most popular fresh water Lake of Asia just 10 Kms from town Sopore of baramulla district, jammu & Kashmir. This lake is Virgin as only local ppl visit this lake due to political disturbance in the area as compared to Dal Lake. River jehlum passes through this lake.

At a distance of just about 3 hours or so from Srinagar , the Wular Lake is located in an area which seems to be high on militancy and hence is not on the regular tourist beat. For the same reason it is not developed and we were the only tourists there . While the drive to the Wular lake... More

Wullar lake is the largest lake in asia. It is beautiful .The lake basin was formed as a result of tectonic activity and is fed by the Jhelum River. The lake's size varies seasonally from 12 to 100 square miles (30 to 260 square kilometers). Boating, water sports and water ski have recently been launched by the Government of India... More
