Chashme Shahi garden is perched on top of a hill that gives you lovely views of the city. You must try the water from the fresh water spring here. Very sweet. As with other gardens of Srinagar, this is also very well maintained

I visited this on my way back from Pari Mahal. It looked much smaller than Nishat Bagh and as usual was pretty crowded. The stream which runs through the centre is pretty small and had little water. The flowers around were also OK. Moreover if you are visiting the other mughal gardens of Srinagar then you can skip this as this might look like a repetition and little less attractive than the others.

The view around the garden are amazing. Lot of beautiful flowers and old trees inside the garden. However, please visit when the weather is nice, avoid afternoons during summer seasons. The clearniness around the park needs attention. Overall good opportunities for visitors to take some picture in and around the garden.

This garden is nice. Has some special spring originating from here. Read up the history about this garden on Google before going .
You can get pictures on traditional Kashmiri dress here.
Not a very big garden but nice
There are steps at entry and even inside so if going with elders be careful as the steps though not too much but are big.
If going during summer, plz go either early morning or evening. Afternoons are hot.
Raj bhavan is on route to this garden so for security purpose , you need to get off the car and walk little and then get into your vehicle again

Our next destinations were Cheshmashahi, Tulip Garden, Parimahal, Nishat Garden, Shalimar Garden and finally Hazratbal Mosque .
The Chashmashahi or ‘The Royal Spring’ is one of the three Mughal Gardens in Kashmir. Situated a mere 8 kms from Srinagar towards Harvan, the Chasmashahi is the smallest of the three Mughal gardens measuring just 108 metres X 38 metres, its views are as stupendous as its layout. It was built by Ali Mardan Khan in 1632 during the reign of Emperor Shah Jahan and is considered to be the most aesthetically designed of all the three Mughal Gardens.
The garden was built around a fresh water spring that flows right through its center and is the cause of the garden being named so. The garden has three terraces, an aqueduct, waterfalls and fountains. The water of the spring flowing through the gardens is assumed to have medicinal properties because of the minerals present in water. It is believed that Mumtaz Mahal was cured of her illness just by drinking the water of the spring. All of the Mughal princesses were fond of the water. They believed that its medicinal nature improved their skin and taking it at regular intervals caused a glow to their visage. The tastefully designed garden also offers a striking view of the surrounding mountain ranges. An entry fee of Rs. 10 per adult and Rs. 5 per child has been fixed. The garden is closed on Fridays.

There are better options available.
Avoid this place in winters.
is a small place with look at the mountains.
Still a decent place to go to just add up in your list and spend a good time with your family .

One of many beautiful gardens in Srinagar. For someone who enjoys gardens, walks and nature it is a must do attraction. During spring the garden is in full bloom and one enjoys the natural beauty of this spring. Avoid weekends as it gets very busy.

Visited in April 2012. This garden is comparatively smaller than the all other Mughal gardens in Srinagar. The garden is located in the Zabarwan Range, near Rajbhawan. This garden has a fresh water spring that flows through out the year and has been flowing for centuries. The spring is said to have medicinal properties. It is said that Mumtaz Mahal (for whom the Taj Mahal was built) got cured of her illness by drinking the water of this spring. The water from the spring flows down the terraces of the garden. All this makes this garden a must visit.
Make sure you drink and fill your bottles with this natural and 100% pure spring water.

Chashme Shahi Garden & Chashme Shahi water Spring is worldwide famous, particularly for Spring water. This water has good health effects. Visit to this garden during snowfall was very interesting and cherishable. Garden was completely covered under white snow blanket and the sight was too good and fascinating. During severe cold day, Spring water was warm enough and sweet. There were many tourists enjoying snowfall in this garden.

Dear all,
I shall be visiting Srinagar with family this September middle for 4nights and 5 days. What would be the weather like and the best travel itinerary? Also, is it safe for tourist in Srinagar?
Written 8 August 2017
Yes, Must visit place. Safe as you will be surrounded by Army.
Spend more time in Pehalgam. Do visit Chashme Shahi and Bring plenty of water back from there.
Dont come back from Pahalgam, spend at least 2 nights there. Gulmarg and Sonamarg are same day spots.
While coming back from Pahalgam you can buy Original Saffron and Dry Fruits.
Let me know if you need more help.

Just go to New Columbus -- best ambiance just in the front. Heevan group is good too --- just look for a houseboat which has a platform in its side where you can sit on a chair and enjoy the view.
