A lake which was very beautiful initially, but now overcrowded with Houseboats. The Shikara ride is a good experience though, and you get to see the floating vegetable and fruit market and also many sellers will approach you during the ride like artificial jewellery, handicrafts etc. Also lot of market and dining options around the lake. Since we went in... More

Beautiful and big lake. You will find vendors of kesar, imitation items and shops of shawls, sweaters even in the lake. Colorful Shikaras and houseboats moored to the bank are attractive. The only issue is cleanliness of water.

It is a very large lake situated in Srinagar and has housboats (Fixed Boats with rooms) where travellers can stay and is a home like experience on the lake waters. There are many famous gardens like Nishat Garden and Shalimar Bagh along the shore line of the lake giving a great view along with mountains on the other side. Shikara... More

The Dal Lake is a magnificent water way. The shikara ride on this lake is simply amazing. You get to see houseboats anchored all along the lake banks... And the huge mountains that back drop the lake were snow covered during our visit. The majestic mountains were just too beautiful to view from the Shikara... The houseboats that sit all... More

This lake is very big. The standout points of this lake are the houseboat along the side, the 'shakira' boats parking along the other side, the snowy mountain (winter) as background, the cleanliness of the lake. I am so curious about this lake was frozen in Jan 2017, it would gave a different experience n view.

Shikara ride is good too , just an hour of shikara ride should be sufficient . Since we went in off season... More

One side of the dal lake is facing huge mountain and another side dal lake with all its boat houses. Hmmm… beautiful view with good weather. Dislike is too many sellers and they do spoil our relax holiday.

Whole of the Srinagar city is build around this lake. When we think of Srinagar the first thing came to our mind is Dal Lake and Dal Lake means Shikara and Houseboat. Staying in the house boat is a whole new experience. One should have it atleast for a day.
