I spent 8 days in heaven on earth along with my family. We were in Kashmir for a vacation and the local itinerary and vehicle service was provided by Violet holidays!
We explored the city life of Srinagar, the heritage, and traditional cuisines. We also saw the beauty of the valley at Dhoodhpatri, Gulmarg and Pahalgam.
We hired an Innova for a comfortable travel for 5 members and the driver Ishfaq was fun to be with. He was also like a tour guide who told us many tales of the valley and people of Kashmir.
Lovely people, delicious food and a shopping paradise, Kashmir is undoubtedly a heaven on earth and I’m sure to make many more visits to the valley and needless to say it will be through Violet Holidays again.
Special mention of Aatira who was always there to support and resolve every query that we had, including where to go for the best local cuisine.
Overall it was a great experience barring a mishap of my spouse falling down during a Pony ride at Pahalgam after the pony slipped on the wet and steep route to the hill top. I would want to caution people taking these dangerous rides without any safety and emergency support on the route. My spouse was lucky to escape the fall with not so grave injuries but things could have gone horribly wrong had she fall on a rock or slipped down the valley.
So, enjoy Kashmir and ensure that you are fully aware the prepared of the potential risks in the adventures offered there.
