It is one of the oldest mosques of srinagar. It has a majestic facade and looks grand from outside. Like every other place it also has a well maintained garden. Must visit.

Jama Masjid is a must see when in Srinagar. Very well built and practically designed to suit its purpose. A very large well kept inner garden that one can experience peace and quiet.

The mosque was very typical but in a pretty run down neighborhood with a lot of strewn trash all around the mosque. Not a comfortable setting for women either with lots of men glaring at my blonde wife.

The mosque is situated in the old city and has a beautiful garden and a fontain area. The other end of the hall has 378 wooden pillars made of Deodar trees. The place looks beautiful in the mornings when it is less crowded.

This is the biggest moqsue in Kashmir and ladies can go in the mosque provided your head being covered. The architecture is fascinating and its designed to suit summer and winter. The garden is beautiful and you can spend your time here without any disturbance.
