We went to Lidderwat suring our Tarsar Marsar trek. The journey from Aru to Lidderwat though long was fairly easy and was beautiful. We crossed forest sections and vast green meadows with the Lidder River flowing beautifully near the trail. The Lidderwat valley was heavenly with the snow capped peaks on one side, the vast meadows on the other side and little streams making their way through the meadows to the Lidder. The entire meadow was full of sheep roaming around...initially we mistakened them to be rocks....only when they started moving then we understood. There is a small shop selling tea and snacks here. It is one of the most beautiful places that I have ever camped in my life. If you are in Aru and have a full day extra, try trekking up to Lidderwat if you want to enjoy the heavenly views. However, it is essential to be accompanied by a local guide and better to arrange camp equipments as it is better to camp there overnight and return on the next day. Also fitness is essential if you want to attempt this trek and I will not recommend this to people who are out of their fitness regime.

The Lidderwat valley is phenomenally picturesque and leaves a permanent mark in your heat of the mesmerising landscape The lush meadows dotted with sheep and pashmina goats ; the icy blue waters of the Lidderwart and on to the bubbling Jhelum rivers are just divine .

This is the valley from the himilayas. There is river that runs down the valley. It is quite rocky on both sides of the river.
