Nice temple and very pleasant surroundings. Be aware that Do not buyvany dryfruits selling outside these temples. Worst quality and they are cheating travellers by providing half quantity products. They sell salted, open shell and fried cashewnut in packing of 800 gm while actual is between 400-500 gm only. Giving trust that good quality but worst one. Even figs, dry grapes and all. Giving false promises and they do not have weighing bars. Do not buy.

Hidimba Temple have a lot of activity for Kids like Yak rides, Archery, throw ball. Here you will able to see long tree and they are so dense that direct sun rays barely reach ground. Overall good experience for 2-3 Hr.

Hadimba Devi Temple is one of the famous tourist attractions in Manali. There are small shops nearby to buy local things and a few eateries as well. Don't miss the yak rides and the fluffy rabits. Nearby, there is a museum, not very well done, but which gives a decent overview of the local history. You can also do a short 1 km trail at Van Vihar ( different from the one near Manali Mall road)

A nice old temple. The only temple dedicated to Ma Hidimba/Hadimba. The wood carvings on the walls of the temples are really nice.
The woods around the temple give such a serene feeling. You can just roam around and spend hours together there.

We are aged senior citizens. How steep is the incline and how tough is the walk to the temple.

There are maximum 10-15 huge steps at the temple. You may climb it with little assistance. The walk of the temple is not that tough. Distance from entrance to the main temple is approximately 5 minutes. And it is surrounded by huge trees making the walk comfortable as it gives good shade

I prefer old Manali to new. Though if you want some conventional "luxury" might be there. Too hectic and peopled for me. Along the winding uphill walk of old Manali one finds a laid back market that caters to westerners and Indians alike. Cafes, river seating, coffee and craft stores. Up the hill are numerous options towards the town and beyond; many lovely places nestled in the hills with great gardens and views of the mountains. you feel a part of the neighborhood...
do we need woollen clothes in may???

Yes if u wish to visit rohtash pass and solang valley. Otherwise a light jacket is fine for town and local sightseeing.

which is the best month to visit this place?

Hadimba Devi Temple is situated on the foot hills of himalayas, also Manali is gateway of Ladakh. This route is open from June till September so most of the tourists come during this period. However if you come to visit particular in Manali so I would recommend April to June as this summer period in North India so most of the Indian tourists come in these months. Temperature goes at day time 15-18 degree and at night less than 10 degree.
