what i liked- Lots of snow Beautiful views enroute (Gulaba, Marhi) A nice waterfall and lake on the way to Rohtang what i didn't like- exhorbitant prices too much traffic takes away the charm of the place also as rohtang is almost 3950+ mtrs, be aware of AMS children are more prone to headaches and dizziness take proper medicines

The Rohtang mountain Pass located on the eastern end of the Pir Panjal mountain ranges of the Himalayas. The Incredible landscape of the surrounding region includes the emerging Beas river on the South of the pass. This pass has served as an ancient trade for travellers in transit between both side of the Pir Panjal mountain range.

Rohtang was the first high altitude pass that we visited. If you can overlook the chaotic traffic on the way, the pass itself is beautiful with views of mountains all round and a feeling of being on top of the world. Its usually crowded at all times and as there is a permit that is required to be taken in... More

It was my second visit to it and really worth visiting. Whole area is just surrounded by the snow clad Great Himalayas and beautiful breathtaking views. Closed for half of the year and gets open at the mid/end of may. It's better to travel in the beginning (Opening days) as the day passes on, It will be full of crowd... More

It is a pretty place but the takes an eternity to get there and the place is littered with tourists. I would suggest that you avoid the place and go to the great himalayan national park instead

Was there in october end on the way from Kaza to Manali. Absolutely no snow. Still rated it excellent because i have been there earlier when there was snow. Besides, during the current trip, the view of the himalayan ranges itself is enough to make your day. Despite the absence of snow, the wind was icy chill. The serpentine road... More

It was October month, and this place was still sooooooooooo cold, with strong chilly winds. Unfortunately, could not enjoy the beauty of snow but still, its worth a visit. Make sure you have enough woolens, depending on the time of your trip.
