This is kind of difficult to access if you dont have a vehicle of your own but very peaceful and a small collection of folk artifacts and exhibits .. mostly from north and central India.. I looked at the posters and figured that this place hosts some really cool workshops and programmes.

This is a lesser known tourist attraction. It's beautiful place , lot of greenery.

This place also offers rooms for stay. Bit difficult to find.

The museum seeks to capture the traditions of folklore in Northern and Central India, especially through romance and love stories.

The nearest metro station to this museum is the IFFCO Chowk metro station on the yellow line. You can hire an auto from there for a return journey, since finding an auto back from the museum can be challenging. It is located in a slightly remote area, with bumpy roads, but that stretch only last for about 5 to 10 minutes, so no cause for alarm. Keep on the lookout for the sign board as it can be quite easy to miss

One of the lesser known museums in Gurgaon, Urusvati Museum of Folklore is soon gaining popularity with travellers and locals alike. On the outset, the museum looks quite like a huge farmhouse, but step in and you'll realise how this two-storeyed building holds the charms of a forgotten era. The museum seeks to capture the traditions of folklore in Northern and Central India, especially through romantic and love stories.

I visited this place in March 2013 after I accidentally read an article on the internet while researching for one of my films.

The museum was under construction in some parts however the owner and the caretaker was kind enough to let me experience the folklore showcased in the museum and shoot parts of it. Now this place forever lives in my heart through my film.

It was a great learning and pleasant experience. Looking forward to visit again but this time not because of work ☺️

Urusvati Museum is an island in the middle of cultivated farmland. It spreads over an area of 8,000 square feet. The sight of greenery in the breeze makes the place too cool and calm. This place is very informative and useful.

I think is unknown to most of the people, however, this place deserves a visit. I must say the place is really big with enormous stuff which are from different ages of Indian History.

It's huge, it's also well maintained with greenery. The items - sculptures, paintings and others also are pretty varied. Worth checking out if you're into that stuff.

Spread over an area of 8000 sq.ft. Urusvati Museum of Folklore is an island amidst sea of cultivated farmland. And during this time of the year the sight of green wheat plant dancing to the breeze makes you hunt for the right words in your mind- the way poets are borne. The remoteness of the place is a bit unexpected as it is just a km or so from the main road. Nature can blossom even in the most unexpected place.
