We wish we could rate it more it more than 5 stars. We were amazed to see the collection of textiles and bronze artifacts that are as old as 200 to 1000 years old and worth billions of rupees These are well preserved, exhibited and presented during the 2 and half hour trip covering multiple exhibition halls. The more surprising... More

Absolutely DREADFUL female guide whose been there 25yrs is full of self importance and more interested in her portrayal of the stories on the fabrics than the visitors need to see them. We had to stand while she droned on then she failed to give us time to look at them. It needs a new person to bring the fabrics... More

Inside of beautiful old havelis that were the estate of a textile magnet, you can see stunning textiles and tapestries of every possible description. Upon his death the estate was turned into a museum for those you wish to experience these beautiful textiles. There is also a wonderful bronze collection and manuscripts. The gardens are lovely to see. This is a... More

I am biased to this place because I love textiles. The museum houses the most beautiful collection of antique, handcrafted, intricate textile works. The works entail history of India and its trade routes. I have heard the the collections are as beautiful as the one's seen at the Victoria and Albert museum in London. Remember to book your place on... More

DONT GO THERE. This place is unbelievably open ONLY 2hours a day for a tour (max 20pers!) that you have to book at least 2 weeks in advance - which makes it very easy for travelers, for some "security and other concerns". This shouldn't be allowed to have such a collection and hide it to the world !! We only... More

Soooo strict rules here. It seems to get crazier. Limited spaces, shorter time to visit, no spontaneity at all. And tour run by a militant lady who needs to lighten up and let tourists enjoy this museum. I wouldn't bother again.

What an experience. A feast of textiles. A truly wonderful collection from Central and North India packed into an old house. The focus of the family trust is to conserve and preserve the textiles so access is limited and the time allowed in each gallery goes by in a flash. Mind-boggling and hard to take in but this is no... More
