May 2024 • Business
Nice. However the vendors need be allocated a well planned area in order to keep things right there for history and tourism at Bhadra Fort. The vendors must have a good conducive infrastructure for their current business and growth in order to pave the way for preservation of the Fort area with nice gardens etc just like Taj Mahal. The move will earn more revenue from tourism

The place is crowded, surrounded by hawkers and is filthy. We were walking through streets strewn with garbage and plastic litter.
It's so sad to see how little our heritage is respected.
Guided heritage walks take guests here. What heritage are we talking about?
It's pathetic and disappointing.

There is nothing left of it. We spent an hour trying to figure the entrance to the fort, which led us to the court located just behind. The durga temple still stands and one can see the gate at a distance. The entire area is a congested populated one with hawkers and vendors. Hard to walk or see. Utterly disappointed that the archeological society and government let an entire fort be dismantled and forgotten.

Just a Gate ..nothing more left of it .So those expecting to see a fort will be highly disappointed by the absence of a fort as is being claimed .
Merely there for listing of historic places in Ahmedabad .There is a temple beside where many pilgrims throng to .

As a first time visitor, I thought that I would be seeing a fort in the tradition of central India or Rajasthan. But, there is only one big wall with two huge gates standing. Most of the fort has been pulled down to make room for courts. The area is a crowded market place with street hawkers occupying every inch of space. The ware sold are usually cheap stuff of poor quality. A visitor would miss nothing by skipping this place.

Go there only if you wish to do any of the following:

A. Have plenty of time on your hands (traffic is a nightmare & app-cabs will refuse to pick you up from this place)
B. Intend to do shopping at Lal Darwaza area (be mindful of your wallet, phone, belongings etc. as the place abounds with pickpockets)
C. Are longing for non-veg food (Nishat Restaurant is a good choice)

Else, this may be avoided
