Its situated on the midst of old Ahmedabad, right on the main road. The place is marvelous sample of Islamic architecture. It seems to be used as a residence for may be care takers. Hence, is loosing its heritage value.

- Located at sardar patel road, this mosque was built in memory of a hindu queen . The architecture of the mosque has lots of similarities with famous Sayeed Jali and gives an important insight about Islamic architecture in medieval times.

Rani Sipri's Mosque stands tall among the many beautiful mosques in the lovely city. The widened road with its BRT system has not affected the character of the place once you are in. Seat peacefully and soak in the tranquility of the place.

Rani Sipri Masjid is a medieval mosque in the walled city of Ahmedabad, Gujarat in India. This mosque was commissioned in 1514 by queen Sipri, the wife of Mahmud Begada, a Sultan who ruled Gujarat. It is also known as Masjid-e-Nagina (Jewel of a mosque) because of the intricate jali carvings on its walls.

In a busy part of central Ahmedabad, you don't go here for silent contemplation as the traffic noise is deafening, as it is everywhere in central Ahmedabad. The main feature of the place is the glorious stone-carving which adorns the mosque and Rani Sipri's tomb. Being... More

This mosque is a glimpse to the heritage of Ahmedabad and a very beautiful monument which is definitely worth a visit. I was impressed with the exquisite carvings and the delicate way the structure has been created. Not many tourists are aware of the presence of this artistic mosque and this should be highlighted as one of the places to... More
