One thing I noticed here is this this temple doesn't appear like a temple. The architecture of this temple is very unique and looks like a Portuguese church. The Blue and yellow colors make it more vibrant. The shopping area near this temple is much cheaper as compared to other places in Goa

During our visit to Goa happened to visit this nice temple which is built on 15th century. We had a very good Darshan. One of the few temples Built and lasted in Goa since the the Portuguese / Christian Era where they destroyed a lot of Hindu temples.

Shri Mangesh temple has a unique experience zone for the mahajans of the GSB community. Small lanes going into the service wing / long staying people in the temple precinct is a place to explore. Bhave Guruji's old home in this precinct is among the Traditional Hindu houses (architecture) with Raj Angan worth seeing. Details can be seen in the Mario Miranda Museum. For us Bhave guruji (our family priest for the past 4/5 generations) residence was a regular until we came to know about it's value.

We took extra time to visit this temple which was out of our way. The guard outside the temple wouldn’t allow our 11 year old daughter inside because she was wearing shorts. Yet males of all ages and older women with short dresses were allowed in. Unfortunately provided our daughter with her first experience of sexism.

This is #1 item on To Do list for Goa. Pictures of this temple make you feel like something directly from Thailand or Malaysia. We traveled around 50km to see Mangeshi temple and found it to be just another ordinary temple. It can be highly avoidable for tourism purpose. Your precious time can be spent on other things.

The temple looks stunning, with a large campus and clean atmosphere. This is really a good place to visit, won't need more than 30 minutes of your time if it is not crowded. Finding a clean washroom was a challenge though

A very clean temple with crisp architecture. Ample parking. Easy access. Very peaceful and calm ambience. The shiva lingam is on the ground with a vessel dripping water onto it.
Observe the dress code - no shorts, no short skirts, no revealing shirts. Shoes can be kept outside on a rack. Bring a dhoti if in doubt, and tie around your waist.

The visit was a moving spiritual experience.
Had expected crowds and delays but the atmosphere is quiet and serene.
Surprisingly few know about this ancient temple.
Very well maintained site which also has a restaurant on site.
Must visit!

Though had been to Goa multiple time, had never visited the Mangeshi temple earlier. It's a nice well maintained temple with beautiful architecture. Would definately want to revisit with family on the next visit.

Now Mangueshi temple is known as a Shiva temple. Is it true that in an earlier period people used to pray for some other god - not Shiva ?

I have to take my mother who is an invalid and requires a wheelchair. Does the temple have ramps?
Written 6 June 2019
It does not have ramps, if she can go inside with some help it won't be tough as there are very few steps that needs to be climbed

There is no dress code per say, but for females it is mandatory that the dress or trousers should be below the knee level...
Not to worry though as in case of ignorance, they do provide you with a cloth to wrap around the waist which will serve the purpose (not sure about the hygiene of the cloth though)

No booking I think. We just went in and it was empty on Friday afternoon to our surprise. Good luck with your dharshan.
