Non-profit 501-c-3 NM corporation formed to educate the public concerning the Shroud of Turin and the connection to New Mexico history through the world's largest scientific expedition ever launched to study a single artifact, which began in NM because of a proof developed in NM in 1976. Our mission is to make the Shroud of Turin an experience available to everyone through facts, exhibits and research. The exhibit features a full-size color scientific grade image of the Shroud and the only interactive 3D exhibit using a VP-8 Image analyzer, as well as recent 3D works by Dr. Petrus Soons. By the outside look of the museum, I didn't expect such a knowledgeable docent. We were pleasantly surprised. He stayed after closing time to talk to us. As we were leaving, some younger people came in and he was ready to speak with them. This place is a must if you visit Alamogordo.

I was in town for a day and of course it would be the day that they are not open but I called Pete and he came down in a half an hour and opened up the museum. I watched a short video and then Pete went on to explain all the scientific research that has been done. He answered... More

I am non-religious, but that doesn't keep me from enjoying a good mystery...and the Shroud of Turin is definitely that. The man who runs the museum knows everything there is to know about the shroud, including the results of all the scientific testing that has been done on the Shroud. Even cooler is that the museum features a life sized... More

The docent was passionate and enthusiastic and knowledgeable about the Shroud. It is a chance to see a replica of something that is not usually on exhibit in Turin. It's free, but as a 501-3c operation, a donation is greatly appreciated. We bought a couple of books and watched the video. We had a full experience in just over an... More

We were in Alamogordo on the days the museum was not officially open but we call the number listed and sweet Deacon Pete said he was not far from the museum and he could meet us and open it for us. Deacon Pete gave us a great explanation on the history and all the scientific research about the authenticity of... More

We search out unusual places to visit and were so glad that this crossed our radar. We were able to learn about the shroud and the scientific research that's been done on it, read articles, have our questions answered, and view a photographic image of the shroud. It was a special experience. No one has yet been able to resolve... More

The southwest is known for Cowboys and Indians , well in the town of Alamogordo, New Mexico there is a gem to be discovered. History of a different kind, the history of Christianity. At the shroud museum in old downtown, you will be in awe of the display they have. A full size photo of the shroud of Turin ,... More

We are not Shroud "study folks", but were interested in seeing what we could learn. Wow! This is the place to learn about all of the scientific studies of the Shroud. The docent was extremely knowledgeable, and a member of scientific team, which largely consisted of scientist from NM, many from Alamogordo associated with the White Sands Air & Space... More

Very informative staff. Will be back another time to learn more but I was able to bring home reading material that makes me want to explore. Left me intrigued to come back for the DVD.
