Very clean, large campsites. Many are walk-ups, only a few are reservable it's about 9 miles from Alamogordo, but still provides very easy access to the White Sands Monument and the Missile Centre. There are a couple of nice hikes right in the park, beautiful scenery, several different cacti, road runners, and really beautiful sunsets. Great place to hang out.

This is only a small park, though it does have a few hiking trails and a small visitor centre. The campground seems to be very popular as it's a small one, and it's location makes it pretty quiet, not to mention the great views in the area. The volunteer in the visitor centre was very helpful in giving me some... More

Oliver Lee Memorial State Park is about 15 miles south of Alamogordo, NM on US 54. From the highway it is about 4 miles to the park on a two-lane secondary road, so don’t give up. This is a well-kept and pleasant park. The gravel walkway to the showers and toilets is lit at night with columns of indirect lighting.... More

What a wonderful little park! We camped here 2 nights and absolutely loved it. It's quiet even though you're only 4 miles from a major road and the views of the canyon and of White Sands are amazing! The bathrooms are clean (well, the women's bathroom was very clean, my boyfriend said the men's bathroom was gross and riddled with... More

Arrived here hoping to see the old compound of Oliver Lee but was greeted by a not so friendly or informative park ranger. Sure she told me that was only available for group tours, but that was it. Enjoyed White Sands instead.

We spent the night there and loved it. We loved the mountain scenery and the peace you get because your far away from town. The site was clean and the bathrooms looked clean too. Well worth the drive there.

This state park is perhaps overshadowed with White Sands NM being so close, but it is a super place to wile away a few hours. Not a great amount to do in the actual park other than walk a couple of short trails, watch a video and admire displays in visitor centre, but it is the Dog Canyon Trail which... More

Like any state park the price is very affordable. This park is on the south side of Alamogordo and close to White Sands National Monument. The view of the Sacramento Mountain range is amazing as it's right there in front of you.

This place was beautiful in its own rights. Excellent camp sites....not much to do in the park but if you enjoy the outdoors, peace and quiet then this may be the place for you.
