Just kids ke mann bahlane ke layak h, wo bhi costly ticket par.

This is a small busy town 2 hours from Bodhgaya. The main attraction is the Nalanda ruins and the Rajgir Shanti Stupa. I found it to be busy and dirty. There are lots of other places to see like the Wildlife park as well. It would feel nicer to visit if it was cleaner.

It's quite exciting as one can use ropeway to go up to the Stupa. Alternatively one can can walk also. At top, it's quite scenic view, lust green forest. Stupa is well maintained.

Steep Ascent in a single air scary Ropeway was quite an experience. Initially, we were scared but soon started enjoying it. Reaching the Buddha stupa and the surrounding view was really great. The dome has glistening golden statues on all the four sides and there is a beautiful monastery cum museum adjacent to it. Worth the visit and the enthralling experience.

Rajgir is a small place approximately 70 km North of Bodhgaya. It will take you about 2 to 3 hours to get there depending upon the traffic conditions and your transport. It's a group of few small hillocks with the most famous Shantideva Stupa and few other tourist attractions nearby. All these are within close proximity of each other. We went to all. Enjoyed a most refreshing bath in the hot water spring too, saw a cave leading to some secret treasure and a jail for a king Bimbisara constructed by his son. There are few others. On the way we stopped over at a place where is the famous mountain that was single handedly curved out by Dashrath Majhi now immortalised by Nawajuddin Siddiqui in the biopic made on him. I guess he used a hammer and chisel and slogged for 22 years to get a pass made through the mountain. Hats off to human tenacity and power of one.

Hi,
I am landing at Patna around 9 AM in late march. Is it possible for me to get a cab directly from airport and cover both Nalanda and Rajgir in one day? I am not too particular about covering everything - just main points at Rajgir are good enough. Nalanda shouldn't take long assuming its one complex only !
Can you also let me know about good car rental service which can pick me from airport, go for the trip and drop me back at hotel in evening.
Also, please suggest good hotels not too far away from Patna Junction.
Thanks
Gaurav
