Neighbourhood: Ramoji Film City
Home to the world’s largest film studio complex according to the Guinness Book of
World Records, the magical and magnificent Ramoji Film City has developed into a
neighbourhood with its own unique charm that attracts millions of tourists who drive 34 km outskirts of Hyderabad to watch Tollywood movie sets and film actors at work. Spread over 1500 acres, this massive film city is dotted with vast gardens, large kitschy statues, replicas of popular historical monuments, open-air film sets, multi-cuisine restaurants, fast food joints and stylish cafes. You can spend an entire day here and choose to stay back in the 5-star and 7-star hotels in the film city. Head to the hilltop from where you can get spectacular views of the entire film city. On your way back, drive through the nearby Pochampally, a cluster of villages that is famous for its Ikat style of weaving for some traditional Hyderabad handloom shopping.

- Raman GNoida, India288 contributionsWhen visiting Hyderabad, you can come here for a dayIt is a full day tour. About 40 km from Hyderabad. The largest film city complex in the world. The owners of film city also organize tours for guests for the huge complex. Tours from around 9 am to 530 pm. We took a Star experience tour. Booked online in advance from their website. ( they have a toll free number as well for any enquiries) . It is a guided tour of the grounds, sets and the special shows. The advantage is that this tour is communicating in a AC bus. Which was definitely a comfort for us. It includes a buffet lunch- which was ok. If you need, the organizers also arrange a bus pick up and drop from various points in Hyderabad. But depending on your pick up location. It can be a 2 hour ride in the bus to the film city. We hired a taxi for full day. ( abt Rs 3000 for the day). We reached a bit before 10 am. It is recommended to reach by 9 am as they ask to, as the tour definitely ends at 530pm. We did notice that for return to Hyderabad in the evening there are stalls at film city for return transport , but do not know the charge? ( in case you only take a drop to film city by own transport). You can visit the film city without booking any of the tour package as well. It will be a walk in for the tickets. We noticed that these are quite crowded as a group. If you have visited any such film city tours abroad, say in Singapore or San Francisco, these are very much of a very high standard and quality in thrills and excitement and experience as compared to Ramoji. But in India, it is surely one a kind. Tour includes, rides, walk through bird parks, gardens, visit film sets, walk through film sets and shows. The latter include a dance and song show as well. Our tour was very well set up and organised.Visited November 2022Travelled as a coupleWritten 9 December 2022
- AvijitBengaluru, India1 contributionRamoji film city visit with star experience is sheer wastage of time and money The carnival and parade is nothing to taSheer waste of time and money as I said in title. If managementbthoughtbthat they can mix fast food and heavy lunch together, then this can happen. One can neither see the things they mightbfeel interesting although there is nothing much to see, except some old film sets, nor one can get time to enjoy the rides available for kids. The other entertainments are what ones get to see in circus , like action stunts, dance show, etc. In the digital era, these does not entice people. They should make it clear whether they want to promote it as game and rides park or mere tour of some so called fancy setsVisited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 26 December 2022
- Amit BansalNew Delhi, India48 contributionsGood experience, wish I had got some good food as wellA good experience going around the film city. I booked a package from Ramoji website. The first half was checking around sets via an A/C bus with guide followed by a lunch. The lunch at Superstar hotel was really not as per Ramoji's standard. Poor state of veg food, pathetically slow roti service. Not worth the price. Taste was just OK. If the restaurant can not handle volume, then they should not even entertain that much of volume. The stalls outside offered much better food. The shows were great as well, the package that I opted was too lengthy for my enthusiasm, at around 5 PM, I wish there were no more shows. I wanted a good tea with some snacks, that experience was not that great as well. Food & restaurants surely needs to improve for the prices that are offered for. There was a winter fest that made the place even beautiful with lights, perhaps, I had left with no energy & zeal to enjoy that. It was a good experience, wish I had got some good food.Dear Mr. Amit, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. It gives us immense pleasure to know that it was a memorable visit. We apologize that the food did not meet your expectations. Your feedback will be served to our chefs immediately for a better culinary experience on your next visit. - Sudipta ShaheenBengaluru, India986 contributionsVisit in winter onlyIts a very good place to njoy with your family and kids. Very well organised and well maintained place. Take the basic plan. Do not waste your money in AC package. Do try to visit in winter months only. In hot seqson, it wont be possible to roam around. It will be extremely hot. They do not allow food inside. You will get ample options for food and beverages.Dear Sudipta Shaheen, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are happy to learn that you had an immersive experience at Ramoji Film City. We want to keep you informed that the Ramoji Star Experience package offers a Privilege chocolate box on Arrival, a facilitated tour of Ramoji Film City in an AC coach Bus with a Buffet Lunch (Veg. & Non-Veg.) in an AC Restaurant, and Tea/Coffee in the evening. Also, we want to inform you that personal food and beverages are not allowed except for diabetes and infants, so all visitors have a high-quality dining experience. - Road620493536231 contributionNOT A BUDGET FRIENDLY PLACEThe entry fee and food inside are too costly. For a four member family, if you just ignore this place, you could visit almost all other tourist attractions in Hyderabad with the same expenditure if you have visited this film city. This place is definitely not for budget tight family. Entry fee of 200 rs for adult and 100 rs for child are just good enough.Visited May 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 September 2023

Good place to visit with family and friends.
It's a filmy experience.
If you are lucky, you can spot a tollywood or bollywood movie shoot.

This is larger than life park for everyone to visit. I have visited few theme parks outside India. Ramoji film city is as good as any forign theme park. It is very well planned. They have planned tour where you will be taken by Bus everywhere. Try booking online and be there as early as possible. by 9:30 then you will be able to cover most of the park. Even though there are buses expect for long walks in attractions. Bahubali Set is very real life. Food portion is little too much so don't go by regular order side. like we (2 adults and 2 kids) could not finish one Bhallaladeva dosa. Plan to attend all shows like space Yatri, Film Show, Wild Wild West. Fundustan is very nice for kids. Don't leave before dark. In the evening everything looks very beautiful because of lights. Please take your time. There are enough places to eat. Food is little overrates but as outside food is not allowed there is no choice but to have it. If you not saying inside it is very difficult to get cab back to city as all ola, uber drivers wait outside and keep cancelling booking and they will take you in almost double price. like Ola was 600 rs but he charged us 1400. So make some arrangements early for return journey back to city.

The Ramoji Film City was an exhilarating experience. I did not expect Ramoji to be so well curated. The scenes and natural beauty are serene. All the sets are well maintained and beautiful. You actually feel as if you are a part of the set. The entire staff, from the guides to the security guards were co-operative and helpful. I was truly in awe by looking at all these sets. Movie magic was conducted nicely and the entire program was curated beautifully. We happened to go when Ramoji was celebrating 110 years of Bollywood movies. They had a grand celebration and an amazing performance. I was truly left in awe after this show. Even the bird park and bonsai park was a beautiful sight to behold. I feel that Ramoji Film City was worth it and their high ticket prices are justified after looking at the amount of maintenance such a vast place requires. Everything was at peak maintenance, from the grass at the parks to the restrooms. There are RO water purifiers at every location and clean and hygienic restrooms. No need to book tickets in advance, scan the QR code at the ticket counter and book it then and there

Me and my family visited Ramoji Film City during the festive season of Dussehra. The room rates were higher than usual due to the season, but the experience was well worth it. Our accommodation was at Shanthi Nikethan, within the film city.
Ramoji Film City is vast to cover conveniently in one day. Hence it is recommended for non residents to take a two day package. Opting for the two-day package with the star experience helps explore movie sets with ease, and bypass queues at various shows. There are variety of activities, ranging from adventurous activities to nature oriented parks, and technology-driven shows. Kids aged 5 and above will definitely like it. The friendly and supportive staff further enhanced our overall experience.
As for areas for improvement, there's little to mention. Our stay at Shanthi Nikethan, though delightful, had us traveling to Tara Hotel, about 1 km away, for breakfast.
For future visitors, it's essential to note that Ramoji Film City is far away from Hyderabad city and the airport, with more than an hours drive. Those relying on flights should plan accordingly, keeping airport transfers in mind account to reach airport on time. Having city tours from the place would also be an overhead.

Nothing amusing except high cost food prices. Only kids may find it interesting.
It's just a beautiful large park with gardens, birds etc. You will want to choose this place as there's nothing in Hyderabad.
