I visited just to see the light and sound show with the family... It was so lengthy and so many names.. Got us confused and sleepy too. Lots of mosquitoes and odomos cream.. I will never recommend this to anyone, unless it's a history interested person

We attended a couple of times during a lengthy business trip. The Fort is not terribly well maintained but is quite impressive none the less. Situated on the highest point in Hyderabad this is well worth the trip. Guides will harass you at the entrance but charge quite a lot for what you get. Do some homework yourself before attending... Golconda Fort, is as old as the Kakatiyas, and brought to its formidable form by the Bahamani rulers and Qutb Shahs. The fort has many unique features and offers interesting insights into early engineering and architectural feats. This is a *long review*. Skip to the 'Uniqueness' section, to find what makes this Fort special. Location and parking: In close proximity... More

A little out of town - and as a westerner, you'll definitely get screwed by the 'autos' for your taxi far... but for me it was so worth it. One of the richest historical sights around Hyderabad. Big site, with some very distinct ways of thinking about a fort... but also so similar to its European counterparts - interesting how... More

This is a "Must Do" if you have the time and energy. LOTS of stairs. Use sunscreen and take bottled water with you. There is a public restroom at the bottom that is quite clean. You will need to pay the attendant to use it. Definitely worth your time for the views, the history and the architecture.

As you enter the Fort you will note people clapping, reason is it was a kind of Warning Alarm on those days. -Design is done such a... More

Place had several forts with many entrances. It was a good walk. Would be best to visit with people who are curious and energetic. The architecture and design is mind blowing.

Had a great tired-some time with friends being to there. But visiting such place of historical heritage is worth your time, energy and space on your travel diary. You have to climb a lot and lot and lot of stairs also walk miles to cover it up all. Must carry water bottles and also enough money with you to help... More
