    Visit atleast once
A truly Magnificent fort. This fort is truly beautiful and a must visit for all travellers. The vibe at the fort was serene. This fort has many caves which make it a good opportunity for photos. However you must try to visit in the winters as it is unbearably hot out there as most of the fort is exposed to direct sunlight.

Go early, be prepare to walk / climb stairs
This is rich history fort. It is definitely must do attraction for everyone. However if you are not used to climbing stairs then avoid this. It is has climb which can take anywhere between 30 minutes to 45 minutes to go to top. Taking guide can be good option but they are very high priced but service is below average. Better to go by yourself. You can buy simple booklet at down and go by the same. Don't need guide as such. This is must see for kids. Avoid for senior citizens as it is tough climb.

    Amazing Golkonda Fort
A gorgeous fort. Beautifully fortified with huge rocks and rock walls. You have to walk up for about 30 minutes at a relaxed pace. Even children were climbing up. Kohinoor Heera was found here. And once you get up to the top, you have a 360° view of entire Hyderabad. Don't miss it.

    A must Hyderabad Gem
This place is beautiful: I highly recommend making a trip to visit if you are in Hyderabad. A couple of tips: 1. Bring sunblock 2. Bring water 3. You don’t need a guide but beware there are many people who will try to approach you and send you out the exit 4. The steps are quite steep so be careful 5. We go followed by a guy in a parka wanting to take pictures with us. Very creepy. 6. You can spend at least 3-4 hours hiking and exploring. While there aren’t many foreigners in Hyderabad- the city is generally safe. Watch for pickpockets and most people will ask to take a selfie with you. We refused. This fort is beautiful- be careful and enjoy.

Worth visiting with family specially school going kids
It’s a great place to spend time exploring about the history of Kakatiya ruler and Sultan. The best way to explore this fort is with a guide as they share so many stories and facts about the place. We did the full tour with our guide who spent close to 2 hours with us and took us till the top of mountain where there is the last point of fort and it also gives a nice view of the city. We missed seeing the light and sound show as we visited the fort during day time, but have heard good reviews about that as well

    Amazing architecture.
Golconda Fort in Hyderabad epitomizes amazing architecture with its intricate design and strategic layout. Dating back to the 13th century, its imposing stone walls, bastions, and majestic gateways showcase a blend of Hindu and Islamic architectural styles. The fort's ingenious acoustics, exemplified by the famed "clap your hands" phenomenon at the Fateh Darwaza, astound visitors. Its innovative water supply system, utilizing ingenious hydraulic engineering, reflects advanced ancient technology. The majestic Qutb Shahi Tombs within the complex, adorned with exquisite stonework and intricate carvings, further enhance its allure. Golconda Fort stands as a testament to the ingenuity and grandeur of Indian architectural heritage.

First of all if you want to burn lot of calories you should visit this place.

At the entrance they do charge entry fees and no water bottles are allowed.

It a huge fort easily one can spend 2 hours here. I advise to reach around 4 pm.

Some areas are not maintained properly and they are smelling very badly. The stairs to all the way up are very big but once one reached to the top its a scenic veiw for some good clicks. At the top there is a goddess temple which is relaxing.

There is lots to walk so one can easily lose some weight after walking so much.

Must take a guide and wear comfortable shoes. Your guide should take a maximum of one hour for important points of interest - especially, Echo point where your clap resonates and walls speak (if you talk in one corner of the whispering courtyard).

The Administration has used veteran Amitabh Bachan's for the background sound to narrate the History of the dynasty and Fort. As the Telangana State is rich in Traditional Dances therefore it is recommended if they can use some Live Dances as part of Sound & Light Show.

Golconda Fort is one of the prime tourist attractions in Hyderabad and we had visited the same during our sightseeing in Hyderabad. Entrance tickets are priced at 25 rupees per person. The Fort area is vast and one can climb steep steps to reach the top which offers amazing views of entire Hyderabad city. It was a hot day and we had a tough time reaching the top but it was worth the effort. There is a cafeteria within the Fort premises.

This was my second visit to the fort. Last time we visited we didn't have time for the light and sound show so this time I made it a point to stay back for it. The fort itself is very beautiful provided you like historical places or else it would seem brick and mortar debri. Take a registered guide and remember to bargain for the rate coz without a guide it might seem boring. The view from the top is worth the climb and do check the amazing architectural acoustics of the fort.
Coming to the light and sound show, I would suggest you give it a miss. They give you a complimentary odomos tube with the tickets so you can imagine the amount of mosquitoes you are about to face during the show. You will be so busy battling mosquitoes that the real battle stories wouldn't seem that interesting. I sat there and dozed off for a major part of the show. I like history and have watched lots of light and sound shows but I guess this experience wasn't that great for me.

I visited Golconda Fort last week and had an amazing experience, the vast size of this monument is mind- blowing. Whilst other reviewers have described it as a crumbling ruin which is not well looked after I didn't find this to be my experience. It was a captivating 4.5 hours and I could easily have stayed longer. The fort has been renovated in part but is mostly the remains of the original building built in the 1500's. There was a photographic exhibition which was informative about the forts use and showed impressions of what the fort may have looked like in the past. What impressed me was the geometric structures, light on the sandstone and spectacular views from the top. I would highly recommend a trip here as an insight into the history of Hyderabad - it is simply beautiful. If your kids are bold there is a wonderful bat cave here too!

This is one of the places worth visiting when in Hyderabad. It has been maintained & kept fairly clean & enforced by their vigilant security staff. The only short-coming is the rates fixed by the guides there. INR 1250 charged by them is a little excessive.
Electronic audio guides need to be installed by the Government/Management at the earliest.

I am so glad I came here. I was in India for a wedding and had a few free days so took a tuk tuk and came to the fort and learned a lot of history, the hope diamond is here or was, the only geocache in Hyderabad is here, and I had a wonderful afternoon just walking around. The weather was not bad in late January. There was a lot to see and do I even stumbled upon an indoor area that had a swarm of bats that was very cool to discover. The entrance fee was nominal and I think it was totally worth it a good way to spend a few hours and an interesting thing to see in Hyderabad.

The Golconda Fort is home to as many conspiracy theories as is possible in one tourist location. From whispering buildings to secret underground tunnels leading all the way to Warangal, this fort has everything to offer in the form of stories. Be sure to walk all the way up to the Raj darbar on the top of the hill if you want a spectacular view of the city.

Parking is abundant, but on the street next to the fort walls (no covered or designated parking area). Try reaching as early as possible (check timings on Google) to avoid trudging along under the sun for too long. Keep yourself hydrated throughout, as it involves a lot of walking and trekking. Be sure to click as many pictures as you can. One doesn't get the chance to visit Golconda that often.

One of the most wonderful Historic destination in Hyderabad to Visit. It is recommended to visit this place early in morning when it get open, as it becomes easy to climb on top. Colourful light show at night inside the fort is shown. View from the top of fort feels amazing 😉 as it give panoramic view of Hyderabad city. Better to go in groups to enjoy the moments.
