1. The diving set should be introduced before getting into boat. 2. Adequate practice of Breathing through set is essential to have a better experience. 3. Life jackets not being used in the boat. There are non swimmers too. 4. The lady instructor did not show adequate patience to encourage the novice and make har comfortable. An experience that should have been memorable was ruined by her. 5. The instructor who accompanied while snorkeling made snorkeling a better experience. This is the feed back from Aishwarya who did both scuba and snorkeling on 04 Dec 2021

As all our planned adventure activities at Havelock got washed out thanks to the cyclone, we reached Port Blair quite disappointed. But our resort team at PB connected us to this champion group. Few of my friends signed up for scuba diving while rest of us including me opted for snorkeling. They turned out to be great professionals and once the paper work was over , detailed briefing and safey exercises were carried out. Thereafter kit and equipment fitting trails were done and off we were to the jump sites in three boats. The dives/ snorkeling were carried out in a very professional manner and without any hitch. At night they came to the resort to share the pictures they had captured on their go - pro cameras The corals and the shoal of colourful , radiant fishes will always remain embedded in our memories. Thankyou Lacodives.

After a lot of research and recommendations, I decided to get my open water certification with Lacadives, and I can say with conviction that it is possibly the best choice I could make. I did my open water course with Lacadives at Chidiyatapu, Andaman island. It is a four-day course which included about a dozen skills as well. I coordinated with Lacadives over phone and through emails, which was extremely convenient. They are very approachable and helpful. Chidiyatapu:- On my first day, Titiksh taught me how to kit up before the dive, and not only that, he made me do the same 5 times. Well, it was exhausting but I will probably never forget the steps now. Satish, who is a divemaster was extremely patient who supervised my novice skills. On the next day, I did my swimming pool session with Gary, who was my instructor for the open water course. Well the first day was extremely fun, he was thorough with his teachings and extremely patient and answered all my stupid questions and apprehensions. The next two days included diving in the sea. It was short 10 mins boat ride from the dive centre. As fun as the pool session was, the sea turned out to be very scary. I may have taken atleast four attempts to decent under water. But Gary my instructor and Satish- a divemaster, who was also present, were extremely helpful and patient. Trust me, when I went underwater I literally felt like my life depends on these two, but I could trust them completely. (FYI its not dangerous, I just got too overwhelmed at first). But after four dives, and a final exam my fear was all gone and I was a proud certified open water diver. Havelock Island:- After my open water course at Chidiyatapu, I went to Havelock island for some fun dives. I did four fun dives at Havelock Island, and could not have chosen anyone other than Lacadives. I did my dives with Rishab and Pratik, who are extremely fun to dive with. The idea of fun dives is to have just enjoy the dives (and work on buoyancy because that’s very important). Lacadives took me to four different sites for my fun dives, and each dive was unique. It was a wholesome experience. I went on a solo trip but never felt like I was alone. I hung out with the Lacadives crew most of the time at Chidiyatapu, and trust me they are extremely social and welcoming. If you go to Chidiyatapu, definitely stay at the Big Tree Resort, the hosts (Dia and Raghav) are very sweet and are accommodating to all your dietary requirements, and there is very cute dog named momo, who also has two cat siblings. I would definitely recommend Lacadives. Just a tip, if you are doing a course with them do finish all the theory so that you can enjoy the time you spend there and watch those gorgeous sunsets at Chidiyatapu. One of the best experience i had was diving and it was made even better with lacadives. The instructors, divemasters and crew were down to earth and aimed at giving everybody who came there a pleasent and comfortable experience. The location is a secluded place and doesnt have many people which is a peaceful place for taking a break from the city life at the same time the dive sites are overpopulated with fish life and other marine life....if you are second guessing it's time to wash it away and dive in with lacadives

This review has to be in 3 parts: 1) Lacadives at Chidiya Tapu- we had the most amazing time with this team so much so that by the end of the trip - we really felt like we had visited CT with a group of friends. The team at CT ensures you leave with the best diving experience and will tailor your dive based on your experience level. Anirudh, our dive master, was amazing and made every dive a memorable one. Titiksh, the manager, despite being busy with managing all the divers and running courses, also kept a keen interest in our daily dive plan and always followed up with us post the dive. We only wish that the CT team had a bigger boat (like the one they have at Havelock) so that one can visit the farther dive sites. Diving at CT is such a pleasure as it’s not crowded at all and the dive sites are intact with very little bleaching of corals. In fact, the reefs are being conserved as well which was very heartening to know. 2) Lacadives at Havelock - Our dive masters, Timoth and Pratik were awesome. They both had such a keen eye and thanks to that we had great sightings. There are some great deep dive sites such as Johnny’s and Dicksons - where we had some of our best dives. However, the corals at the shallow sites at Havelock are all bleached. The dive boat at Havelock is one of the best on the island and in great condition. Everyone on the boat from the captain to the boys who help you put on your gear are great. The service is 5 star inasmuch as they even buckle up your BCD for you!! We were spoilt rotten! A special mention regarding the equipment used - the same is kept in great condition and felt brand new. 3) Lacadives management / booking - it is clear that the the Lacadives center at Havelock is more commercial in nature (given that it’s located at the Taj) and to us, it seemed like more importance was given to Discover scuba divers and snorkelers than fun divers. Therefore, if you’re a fun diver with advanced level experience - pls ensure that you have planned your deep dives / dive sites in advance at Havelock otherwise you may get stuck diving at shallow sites with the snorklers/ discover scuba divers - which is what happened to us (we did not face this issue at Chidiya Tapu though). Dev and Anuschka from the Mumbai office acknowledged our issue and quickly resolved the same without any fuss.
