When we went there we were not allowed to enter the waters due to a recent crocodile attack...there are some very good photo opportunities though...sunset can also be quite a spectacle

There's one forest guest guest house which provides Basic stay facility in Chidiya Tapu. I don't think they've phone numbers there. You may have to search google for the Forest department of Portblair and ask for stay in... More

there is a zoo in which you see some animal very close and natural beauty enjoyed if you wants to sightseeing in portblair 'chidiya tapu' is one of them sightseeing place.

If weather is clear, around 4:30 - 5:00 pm will be good time to visit. After that it becomes dark.
