Small, but good collection of artefacts on history of Tahiti and the islands. Very little signage in English. Gift shop on site. Restrooms. Plenty of free parking. Outdoor garden in the center. This has so much potential. Shame it isn't better maintained, but still recommended...More

We went for the Bastillé day festivities which were amazing on the museum grounds and found our way into the actual museum. Small but quaint. An easy history of the islands of Tahiti and their flora and fauna. Nominal charge to enter.

What a great place. Besides the awesome museum of tahitian history we were able to observe the Bastille day events, vendors, traditional games and competitions. Fabulous. We might come back next year.

No windows were open. It was pleasant outside but very uncomfortable in the Museum. Some interesting historical exhibits.

I visited the museum as part of a tour package and am glad a native Tahitian guided us through the facility. With her riveting stories of the culture and social mores of the people before missionary times and after missionary times, she brought the inanimate...More

Great place for learning about the history of the islands, how they came to be populated and all subsequent conflicts. There are a lot of original artefacts and drawings which makes for a lovely visit.

I enjoyed this exhibit which takes perhaps an hour of time to visit. Mostly in Tahitian and French but enough English and easy to figure out labels. Interesting history of islands, Polynesians, and geology. Easy to take taxi then walk 10 minutes to nearby Hotel...More
