It was challenging to find the gates open and much of the boardwalk is unusable but it is place for quiet reverie - a respite from touring.

I had booked a hotel near this location so we could visit it easily with down time. Unfortunately you can't get around the lagoon. I think it will be under construction for some time, as I didn't see any restoration work being done. It's a shame because it looked like it could be amazing.

Looks like an amazing walk in a mangrove wetland, unfortunately only the first 50 metres were accessible on the day we went during Easter 2022, the sections that we were unable to access looked great!

We visited Laguna las Ninfas twice. Once was in the afternoon (around 3:00 p.m.) and once in the morning (8:00 a.m.). Each time there were only a couple of fish swimming around. Furthermore, there looks to have been an elevated boardwalk which went around the laguna at one time, but this is no longer accurate. It is a peaceful place if you would like to sit on the wobbly decking for a few minutes, but that's about it.

I had some spare time on hand and decided to visit this emerald-green watering hole. It closed 2 months ago for refurbishment and there is no indication when it will reopen.

Possibly the most relaxing and peaceful lagoon I have visited. Not only an abundance of wildlife above the waterline but below were baby hammerhead, white tipped and black tipped sharks, baby seals as well as fish of many varieties, colours and size. Truly one of Earths treasures and beautifully preserved.

peaceful pond, can see some small fish, the trail is broken, can be dangerous for small kids, not sure why they are not being repaired.

Having read reviews, I did not expect much, but as we were spending four nights in Puerto Ayora it seemed worth a stop. I ended up going back the next day because I enjoyed it so much. It's very peaceful and there is interesting signage in English and Spanish describing the flora (and some amusing carvings on the fence only in Spanish).

While I personally didn't see much in the way of wildlife besides some little fish, it was a peaceful refuge that I really enjoyed. And it's free! The only way to make it better would be to make the boardwalk so that it was a loop rather than an out-and-back.
