The place to find dugongs. I recommend using a tour company to locate them however. Other than that, very nice beach away from the main town. Nice and quiet and a good place to relax. Really good place for snorkelling as there is an abundance of coral and fish, and if you’re very lucky with your tour, dugongs!

Not as big as the other statue at the other end of town, however quite interesting and definitely worth a visit

You'll find yourself here if you want to take a microlet to points west or southwest of Dili. Keep in mind that microlets leave when they're full, so you could be sitting in one of the minivans for an hour or more before you're on your way. To make matters more frustrating, the van will circle constantly as there isn't enough space for it to simply sit there waiting for more passengers. The driver will pull into traffic, drive a couple dozen yards, then loop back around, shouting out his destination along the way. Still, it's all part of the experience!

This place is worth a visit and is a real asian experience, the hubbub of the local vegatable sellers and the traffic with the multi coloured mini buses called mikrolets, the beach is good for swimming and snorkelling.Do yourself a favour and visit here!

A little paradise where sun-drenched, sandy beaches dominate the landscapes would be ideal for holidaymakers to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Visitors can have an ample opportunity to sunbathe on secluded beaches on the island a few miles away from the town center.

A road takes you close to the base of the statue of the Pope, with a short walk up a wide set of stairs. There is a conference room where the Pope said mass (never open when I have been there)..Toilets also locked. Good views looking over the coastline back towards Christo Rei, with Tassi Tolu lakes beneath you.
A possible alternative for less able travellers who want to take in a view of Dili and surrounds.

Visited this site on a day trip around Dili. While the memorial is in some ways remarkable once again the lack of upkeep and interest makes it a disappointment. If a little more effort was poured into this location both by the church and state it can be made an interesting place to visit and perhaps meditate. There is a chapel, function room which is locked and could provide a place of reflection/refreshment to visitors. Good views are available if the bush was managed better. There are many missed opportunities here. I was however happy to see that the toilets were clean and available.
