Very hot but they had rotating fans in the aisles to keep everyone cool during prayer. The stained glass windows were worth seeing.

Located near the Abidjan city center is the newly constructed Catholic Cathedral. The inside of the church is large with seating arranged in a 180 degree configuration that is tiered so all attendees have an unobstructed view of the alter area. The massive stained glass windows are beautiful. Definitely worth a visit if you are in the city center area.

This is a must see in Abidjan. The stained glass windows are breathtaking, and the mosaic murals are wonderful

The outside is impressive architecture. It is a must to go inside and see the stained glass depicting Africa animals and cultural correct skin tones of religious persons. The inside is cool and well worth the effort. Free to enter.

The architecture and paintings on the walls are very nice. They should have some kind of kind to speak to the place. I bet everythins there has some meaning to it

Some say it resembles an elephant, others a wave. I don't know what it resembles, but I do know it's a building that takes you by surprise. From afar you only notice the huge concrete cross, but it is only when you get closer that you can see the rest of the building, with it's organic lines, wooden doors, and slanted roof. It is very interesting. You could see from the outside that the stained glass was very unusual, with African motifs, but when you get inside, it's midblowing! The colours and the bible scenes in an African context (so different from what one usually sees in Europe), are beautiful! I liked it so very much that I visited a second time and stayed for mass (Thursday, around 1:30 pm).

It is an imposing sight from below but an even more beautiful monument from within. I was captivated not only by its shape (a whistle) and size, but especially by the stained glass windows.

The Cathedral is in the administrative district of Abidjan when there are many other interesting buildings. Watch out for new Presidential building and the French Embassy. In front of the latter, there is a lovely restaurant.

If you want to catch Mass at the Cathedral, they have services at 7, 9 and 11 am on Sundays.

I loved how clean the place was. There were hand wash stations and visitors were allowed to go into the church

Visited the cathedral. It's an imposing structure that looks unbalanced except for some steel like rope at the top of the building. Was a hive of activity on the day of the visit. Tents and chairs in the church yard.

Cathedral is definitely worth visiting for the architecture alone. If you're lucky, there might be activities on the grounds which are considerably to the pleasure of the visit
