One of Santa Marta's most famous sons. Pass by, check it out, then carry on. He still has a condo elsewhere in town. We passed by that too.

A fun statue for those with fond memories of an iconic player, but the travel there and back will take up more time than the few photos you'll take for friends back home to think of old days playing FIFA'98 !

If you're a soccer fan visiting Santa Marta you may wish to visit the statute of Carlos Alberto Valderrama, one of the best footballers to play the game. Located at the soccer stadium, people from all over, have their photograph taken, standing beside him.

We asked our guide to see this staue which is oversize, and brilliant. He said we were the first Europeans to request such, though all south americans want to see it. Fantastic blond hairstyle on a bronze staue. Excellent!

If you are into soccer and like him as a player then you will enjoy this. Otherwise, it's just a statue of some guy.
