A small collection of restaurants serving international food. Each block has 5-10 street vendors shoving menus in your face trying to get you to go to the place they work for.
The park is your average small Latin American plaza, if you sit down you will have a collections of street vendors in your face with in a few minutes.
As it gets dark more sinister street hustlers come out looking for victims to prey on.

This entire area is a revelation in the evening. By day Santa Marta aint all that, Rodadero much better beach and much more attractive, but after dark there is a marked change. SUPER lively with great ambiance, loads of quality restarautns, tons of street musicians and a lack of the annoying hustlers that plague the Centro Historico in the much hyped Cartagena. More Colombianos than extranjeros.
AND with the breezy conditions you never sweat, my wife got goose bumps from chill even. UNLIKE the much less pleasant climate in Cartagena.

Lots of restaurants and shops with vendors milling around. We walked through the Parque de Los Novios on our way to and from sights and restaurants during our five day stay in Santa Marta. We loved it!

We were only here for an afternoon but the ambiance was fun and the food was delicious (we ate at Holguer Pizza). Hold your bags close and then enjoy

If you are like me and have to hook up to the internet for things like email, translating, or research then wifi in a park in the middle of the city is a blessing. There are many nice places to eat and good opportunities for photos as well. But seriously .... free wifi.

Santa Marta is one of my favorite places for vacations, the last time was in April to celebrate my birthday in 2019, usually my activities there is to visit biodiverse, historical and entertainment places in general. I like it because of the environment, the people, the food and the sea.
There are many nightclubs, there are many beaches, especially there is a beach called Playa Blanca that I really like to visit, there is a tourist site called Parque Tayrona that has incredible biodiversity and also the Parque de los Novios is an excellent place to drink a good cup of coffee and read a book.

Not a park at all but a lively interesting small square full of bars, restaurants etc. The street to it’s side, no 19 is also lively.

El Parque de Los Novios was a neat little square, lots of people, music and action.
There are a couple of restaurants along the street to eat at, lots of Venezuelans there doing tricks etc. for money, which is sad.
The square could use some sprucing up, considering it is a tourist spot.
We walked around a bit, I thought it was interesting that in front of where a government building sits, this is the area where the prostitutes hang out at night.
I can check it off my list, and it was ok, but I will not be going back.

This park is a popular place for locals as well as tourists. It gets busy for happy hour and dinner. Sit down, have a drink and relax.
