I gave this very Colombian amusement park 5 stars because I was there (twice!) at the end of the year when the Christmas light shows are going. Best Christmas light display I've seen anywhere in the world!! Not to be missed.
So it's pretty amazing that it's FREE to get into the park to see the lights in the evening. You can follow the path around the lake and see all the sights. There are places to eat, drink, and shop. Tons of photo ops.
I actually arrived at 3 pm (when the park opened) and paid for a 10 ride pass. Later I would discover that there aren't even 10 decent rides in the park, but it's cheaper than paying 7,000 COP per ride. Oh, and you only have until 6 pm to use your ride tickets.
Still, I didn't regret my purchase. The water ride is the best in the park. Two giant drops guaranteed to get you soaked. I did the pirate ship that does 360s and makes the blood rush to your head. Why do I do that to myself?!?! Skipped the one that jolts you around like a series of car crashes.
The El Aguila zip line ride isn't half bad. The jungle cruise is not up to Disney levels by a long shot. Almost comical how bad it is. Had a great time in the bumper cars. Never gets old. Rode down the giant slide. Skip the jerky 4D experience.
Kids will have more fun than adults. There are a bunch of rides just for them. Nothing fancy here. No real thrill rides. More about killing off an afternoon with some fun and Colombian culture.
I did the botanical garden in the morning, then Parque Explora, and then Parque Norte all in the same day. They are all right next to each other.

It had been many years since I experienced the joy and excitement found ias I joined in the rides of Parque Norte. From the slides, to the aero-jets flying, to the water boat slide and the merry-go-round and it’s bumper cars a bushel of laughs and fun await you. And, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy a meal, or a snack and beverage. Go back to your early childhood wonder and excitement at Parque Norte!

Easy metro to Universidad. Enter beneath the huge billboard lit up with lights and walk around the park leisurely discovering all the amazing displays and food. In 2018/19 year the theme was animals and very impressive

27,000 COP gives you ten rides. You can pay for the unlimited package but it wouldn't really be worth it. You have a small rollercoaster, water ride, and a couple of other decent rides for a thrill. It is really kind of set up for younger demographic as large children areas and rides but even adults can easily have a few hours of cheap fun. If you go mid-week you won't have to wait long at all for each ride. Take the metro to the University station.

We went to the amusement park hoping to ride the roller coaster but what we discovered that this park is more for young children because most of the attractions were short and no-frills. We had to wait 2 hours for the rain to pass at one point because they shut down the attractions, can't really recommend.

I mean, is good that is available year-round, and in the city BUT so many rides were closed, and from the ones left, only 2 were actually good to be on. Wish had returned to Explora instead, oh well.

Great park, I could discover an entertaining place. This place has games, food zones, decoration, lights and many people. It’s wide and it offers a great view with a lake. You can visit with friends, family and children, it’s a place for anyone. You can take the metro system and get off in the University station or Hospital station, they are close to the park. I visited in December of 2017th, and the park was decorated with many lights, creating a magical place.

We randomly stumbled into this park because the portion of the metro line back to our hostel was temporarily shut down. We visited between Christmas and New Years and it was basically a giant Christmas carnival. There were rides, food, beer, people watching, and more Christmas lights than you've ever seen.
The only downside is that it got crowded - as in shoulder-to-shoulder crowded - later in the evening. It seemed like this is the spot that everyone takes their kids around Christmas. Still a fun experience and something that I didn't expect doing in Medellin. If you're there around the holidays, I'd definitely recommend checking it out.
