The plaza is located in the heart of downtown, very close to the metro station. It has 23 of Botero's sculptures spread throughout the place. It has a lot of street vendors, and other than the sculptures there is nothing else there. We didn't go...More

Very cool to see all of the Botero sculptures. Lots of history here. Took a guided walking tour that gave a great background of the city and the country.

I guess I had high expectations for this park, but it is located downtown, and I didn't feel very safe there. A lot of sellers, and a few sculptures. We stayed there for 3 minutes and then took the metro back to the hostel. If...More

It's worth checking this place out, but be aware that it's very touristy with tons of vendors and people asking for money. It seemed safe enough while we were there, but it is a place I would not be comfortable being at after dark.

I went with a large group from the U.S. as well as coworker's from Medellin. The plaza was quite overwhelming with people trying to sell small toys and souvenirs that it was hard to enjoy fully. The sculptures themselves are beautiful, but there are too...More

It's a very beautiful park with all sorts of interesting sculptures by Botero. However, the street vendors can get very annoying here. One of my friends was followed around by a man selling obviously fake sunglasses and the guy just couldn't get the message that...More

Beautiful outdoor art museum of the voluminous sculptures of Fernando Botero. The plaza is located outside the Museum of Antioquia and the Rafael Uribe Palace of Culture in the Carabobo neighborhood of Medellin.

Few people speak English in Medellin, or Colombia for that matter. One of the telecomms, UNE, sells USB wireless keys to access the Internet. When I checked last year, the key cost COP 50,000 and access was COP60,000/month.
