    Botero, an awesome artist!
The views were amazing and we took a lot of pictures! The sculptures were just wauw! We felt that since it's a well known place for visitors it was very dirty and smelly. We didn't feel unsafe and there were a lot of security walking around. We went to the Antioquia museum. A must do! Have to take at least 2 hours to walk and see everything. Lots of hidden treasures.

    Must visit when in Medellin
Great place to check out during the day. There are quite a lot of homeless people but perfectly safe when busy during daylight. There are some nice buildings but the Botero statues really make it. You can visit the museum on the plaza too which contains over 150 of his works.

    Fascinating but very crowded
Park was in the middle of a very busy area. It's worth a visit if you are a fan of Botero. And after you are finished admiring the sculptures, you can visit the art museum and take a stroll through El Centro for some shopping. Be aware, these places should ONLY be visited in daylight!

    Plaza Botero
Really enjoyed looking at Botero’s sculptures. The plaza area is large and vendors are available to sell you snacks and water. I did not enjoy the walk from the San Antonio metro stop to the Plaza Botero. I am not a fan of pop up shops of clothing and trinkets. Some folks love that, just not me. We were advised to hold onto our belongings and only shop at vendors with AAA rating. However, I never felt unsafe in the area. Yes, be cautious and pay attention to your surroundings but my two trips through it, were completely fine.

lovely square in an area covered with so much contrast: poverty and art, drugs, poverty, prostitution and tourists and families looking to enjoy the wonderful place.

Great place to view the 23 bronze sculptures donated by artist Ferdinand Boltero that surround the strange and beautiful cultural heritage center (free admission). As the day turns to dusk, you may see ad hoc entertainers and sex workers (perhaps redundant).

Located in front of the Museo de Antioquia. It had a large collection of Fernando Botero's sculptures. Medellin was his hometown. Definitely not to be missed.

Would highly suggest to avoid this place unless you are a local or Colombian. Felt very unsafe, constantly begged for money, trying to find a place where a taxi or Uber would pick up was tricky without venturing out into worse chaos. Even though area is cordoned off with police barricades and police, still not safe during daytime.

The plaza is beautiful but all cordoned off . Just a few spots to enter . Police is obviously aware of the situation. Felt very unsafe . We visited the museum of Botero . Beautiful. Worth the trip . But leaving and looking for a taxi was a challenge . Not again.

I have been here numerous times, this time I got here a bit earlier, lots better photo ops and less people. Don’t think it is closed because of the police barricades, there are 2 entrances
