It's a must to visit in Medellin in order to see Botero's art. However if you are in the Plaza is better to visit the Botero's Museum located just in front of the Plaza. The four stars is because of the location. It's not the better of Medellin. You have to be carefull when walking. It's not very dangerous ...... More

Modern Art right in the city centre - these obscenely obese figures are very funny and will appeal ( in some obscure way ) to everyone

Botero is revered in Colombia and he ain't even close to dead. You got to respect that. It's a great place to visits. Nice architecture surrounding it. Watch you wallet. Don't stray North of hotel Nutibara.

Free park, you can climb each statue. You will see more Botero than at the Botero Museum in Bogota:) Lots of fruit stands all around in case kids get hungry.

Plaza Botero is a great place to visit. Try to combine it with the Museum that is just nearby. La Candelaria reminded me Caracas' downtown area, but this was way much nicer.

Overall, I don't regret including Plaza Botero in my travel itinerary. It is a vibrant plaza, filled with people and sculptures that catch your eye. That said, there are other places worth much more in Medellin

Such adorable and unique peices! We were told each peice is worth 2 million dollars! The public art really does transform the place and gives a sense of community and pride.

If you want to see what Botero calls his amplified figures this is a great place to see the sculptures. The nearby museum also houses much of his work that he donated to the museum. The area is busy, and while it has improved, I would be careful with your wallet, and other valuables. That said, don't avoid this amazing... More

The sculptures in this plaza are interesting if you like sculpture and they are definitely different. This location is very popular with tourists and so is very busy and not exactly in the best looking/feeling area. It's worth a visit to go and see the art work but just make sure you keep your wits about you while you are... More
