The Botero statues are gorgeous. However, this is one of the more touristy areas so watch your wallet. As well, the area is a major area for prostitutes, so there are quite a few dodgy characters around. I checked into a hotel overlooking the plaza...More

I was in Plaza Botero with my wife earlier today and was stabbed in broad daylight ... yes, stabbed. I'm a pretty big guy but three teenagers approached me, one of them came at me with a knife and just started stabbing, catching me once...More

This is a cool place to hang out and take pictures. Sometimes there are cool street performers too. Souvenirs and food are also nearby. Worth seeing.

ABSOLUTELY, no visit to Medellin is complete without a visit to Plaza Botero. Many of the works of maestro Fernando Botero are very tastefully displayed at this downtown Medellin square. A must see!

Watching the people was the main attraction here. The statues are wonderful, but the hustle and bustle in the plaza was almost as great. There's also the Museo de Antioquia which features a lot of Botero's paintings as well. It's worth a visit.

If you love the art of the sculptures of Botero this us the place to be... take as many pics as you like. Bad thing... some people just sit next to the statues and they don't allow you to have good pics, even if you...More

Great place to take pictures with the Botero sculptures; it's a vibrant park with lots of local flare. There is also a museum and a cathedral. There's also lots of security but I wouldn't get too comfortable.

Seeing the sculptures was interesting, but it was difficult for me to enjoy the visit due to the surrounding environment. Hard to walk around without people trying to sell you things. It's in the downtown area of Medellin which isn't really nice or comfortable to...More

Offering a good number of Botero sculptures in a plaza/park. I would suggest going earlier in the day if you want to take pictures. The area gets very crowded towards the end if the day.

If you like art and sculptures, Plaza Botero is an interesting place, but if you are a tourist, which is mainly who will be reading this, be conscious of the fact that this is not located in a safe part of town. If you want...More
