Wow there are a few important points translated into English, the museum would appeal to a lot more people and educate a lot more travelers if it was fully translated. As such, I paid about 18,000 Colombian pesos and got very little information out of it. I speak a little Spanish but not enough for this to have been a... More

The museum looks like it has English translations and it's does have a few, but I could have got so much more out of it if there were translations. I know it's a terribly arrogant thing to expect English translations but in this case I really felt I'd missed out. More English here than the naval museum.

This museum was great -- especially the part where they showed different instruments of torture. It was very interesting and I highly recommend going to visit.

I didn't expect a lot going inside the museum, well, I wished to understand the history of the city, but I got more. There were 3 levels, the first floor was already intriguing with the display of the methods of torture they did in that time. The second floor was for temporary exhibition and the third floor I found my... More

This might be one of the most interesting museums I have visited in the City. What the church did to suspected heretics and witches is shocking! It is a little expensive and it is kind of hot in some of the rooms. Welcome to Cartagena and the Caribbean in the summer time.

This is really 2 museums in one. The upper floor is an interesting series of exhibits on the development of Cartagena. The lower floor focusses on the inquisition, and I found the information rather limited and I certainly would not call exhibits gruesome. There's a short animated film narrating a history. Quite good bilingual displays and notations. The entrance was... More

Ok for rainy day, day when heat is not sweltering because it is almost as warm inside as outside. The descriptions are interesting although not sure kids should see it. Unlike similar museum in Spain it is not too gruesome. I just don't think it is that interesting.

You pay some $8 per person, the so called inquisition rooms are of marginal interest only, but the exhibits and the state of the rooms in the upper floors are appallingly low key. No concept, no soul, no fun.

Went with family. Young boys wanted to see Torture devices but ended go learning a lot about history of Cartegena, intolerance and exclusion and religious persecution. Able to echo current political crises in modern times.
