What a terrible museum and waste of time. Such an opportunity to share the traumatic history of one of the Caribbean's most important cities. Instead, the offer is a disjointed recollection of important events without adding value in terms of a meaningful layout and timeline....More

I visited the museum with my family. With my wife we speak Spanish and English so the visit was ok. But for my parents who speak only French, it was impossible to understand the visit, nothing in french. Moreover the museum is not very interesting.

The Museo Histórico is a beautiful museum in Cartagena, the museum has just been renovated and therefore the building itself is already worth a visit. The museum tells the story about the history of Cartagena from the people who founded the city to the Spanish...More

This museum is located at the Plaza Bolivar inside the Ciudad Amurallada in Cartagena. It costs $16,000 Colombian Pesos for adults. Worth the visit.

As a history buff I was so excited to see this museum. It could have the potential to be awesome! 1-Sadly everything is in Spanish, yes I know we are in a Spanish speaking country. I would have grasped so much more if it was...More

Walking through the exhibition highlights the sad and tragic history of the Colombian people during the Inquisition. We don't often take the time to know a country's history, nor do we always take the time to understand its past before visiting. The museum is a...More

The museum houses some mind-bending tales and information about the activities of the Inquisition in Cartagena and some of their victims. Some texts have not been fully translated into English - so go with someone who can read Spanish to get the most out of...More

The historic building in which the museum is housed is quite lovely with nice view of plaza from second floor. But the actual exhibition on the Inquisition is hard to follow and more prosaic than informative. There is only intermittent translation to English so if...More

This is the Inquisition Museum, which happens to be in the Historic Museum building. Many signs and facts, very few actual artifacts, most of them just replicas. Not worth the visit.

Museo Histórico de Cartagena is placed in a lovely building downtown. However, the exposition is a bit poor and the experience is not well led. There are not many signs indicating which way to go, and the different rooms lack transitioning among them.
