The architecture of Las Bovedas is striking and photogenic. Its locale is a mecca in old town for costumed locals and a great place for both architectural and local culture pictures.

These were the old ammunition bunkers when the fort was active. Now each bunker is a store/market for a number of different types of souvenirs and gifts. Very beautiful old buildings and a good starting point for a walk through the old historical city. Be prepared for a long flat walk if you want to explore the old city. About... More

You're basically gonna find here all the souvenirs you'll need, prices might be a bit high but the variety is perfect to get any kind of gift.

After a little walking along the walled city we arrived to Las Bóvedas. There you can find fancy and expensive handicrafts, paints, but also If you look carefully you can get good deals. Don't buy emeralds there they're expensive and low quality look for a certify vendor or jewelry. At the end of the Bóvedas they have bathrooms 1000 pesos... More

This place is a transformed prison with the cells renovated into stalls for artists to sell their wares. It's an interesting place to shop.

This is a great place to buy gifts, they have a number of stalls with various types of gifts for example, mugs, hats, coffee, candy, jewelry, etc.

These are old armory and weapon warehouses when Cartagena's walls were under constant assail from pirates. Now they have been converted to shops for Colombian crafts. The stuff is not spectacular, but the bovedas are quite neat, tucked in the walls of the city.

Many shops with interesting souvenirs at good prices but the vendors outside are relentless. If you go a little farther down from where the tour buses drop most customers off, you'll find the salespeople are more laid back.

The shops are nice, but all of them pretty much sell the same things. There are a few that offer different artisan items, but you have to look. Worth checking out, but not spending too much time.
