This lovely old church, Iglesia de la Santisima Trinidad (Holy Trinity), with its recognizable bright yellow facade, is located in the Getsemani Bario (neighborhood). It's about a 5-10 minute walk from the Old Cartagena gateway, the Torre del Reloj. The simplicity of the outside design is a contrast to the inside. Traditional 3 naves constitute the church's main floor layout,... More

Best place to hang out in Getsemani. Laid back but with plenty to see and good places to eat and drink. Street food, small cafes and upmarket restaurants. Loved it.

If you just want to see how beautiful Colombians are with one another when enjoying life, go here and just hang out and watch. It is the best place in town for this without being bothered with peddling. Pura vida.

Trinidad Plaza is a terrific neighborhood park. It worth the walk simply to see a vibrant local neighborhood.

There is amazing art to be seen in Getsemani. Please go here! This church is the center and on one side you have the beautiful and famous "matapalo" (black bird) mural. It is gorgeous! There is so much beautiful wall art that you must visit this church and its vibrant colors, too!

As you come into the plaza you see the nice church being the background of a mixture of locals and visitors from different countries sharing a bench while drinking a beer. While you walk you'll be able to hear conversations in at least 6 different languages and more than one group or couple trying to create a common language. Around... More

The church itself is beautiful, but what you really want to see is the activity in the plaza after dark. This is the outdoor heart of Getsemani with people hanging out, listening to street musicians and partying every night.

Great vibe here with loads to see and do, plenty of bars and restaurants to sit in or just grab some street food and sit in the square watching the amazing entertainment in form of dancers

Although we stayed inside the wall we came over to Getsamani several times. One of these we took the free street art tour (reviewed separately) which was fabulous. The other times just to hang out both in the afternoon and evening. Loved the area! So vibrant with great little restaurants and murals. It is a great place to go in... More

My hotel was situated on the Plaza de la Trinidad so it was a nice place to see local life. The square came alive at night with locals sitting chatting and eating also from the street food carts. On the Friday night that I was there the place came alive with street entertainment and the restaurants were all busy. It... More
