I had a great kitesurf class with Mike! They take good care of your safety and their material. I got some nice tips from Mike that helped me a lot!

I also took a great full body massage with Yovana! Definately treat yourself with a nice massage when you’re at La Boquilla beach. Yovana has magic hands and finds the places that need attention right away. Last but not least, she has a beautiful space in the back of the surf club where you can totally relax. 🌺 For European standards pretty economic prices for quality massage as well. 👍🏼

I spend a few days in La Boquilla and rent twice some Kite equipment in Nativo Kite School. The team is very cool, the equipment is good and diversify. Everybody is helful and seems to like there job. I did like their service and spirit and will certainly go back there if I kite again in Cartagena

Actually the kiteschool is friendly and helpful, not too expensive, compared to international levels. The fly Core kites and other brands. Beach boys available to start and land. Soft sand. Shade. Next to the kiteschool is bar/restaurant, prices and quality is fair, local style, I think it is recommendable.
Compared to a kitespot in Santa Veronica (Salinas del Rey) where the wind blows like hell, and no kite bigger then 8m2 (!), in Cartagena (La Boquilla) I flew a 10m2, and was underpowered. A 12m2 kite is recommended, so bring bigger kites, and probably a surfboard.
Water is very choppy, some swimmers close to the shore, and the wind is a bit gusty, better to kite a bit more outside. They have storage, shower, shade, palappa, hammock, ... lets go!

If you have any plan to go to the beach, definitely come here. This is a quintessential beach hangout. They have everything you need including a bar, restaurant, activities (kitesurfing, kayaks, paddleboard, sailboats, wakeboard, jet ski, paramotor), and an awesome setup and atmosphere. Even if you just want a relaxing beach day, this is the place to go. Everyone there is so friendly and easy going. Ken is the BEST and will help out with anything he can. Not to mention they have very nice rooms if you want to stay longer than planned! This is a place I will continue to visit the rest of my life.

Ken and his friends are the best kitesurf instructors in town. Furthermore, they have the best infrastructure by far.

It was approx. my 5th time at their school. Enjoyed it as always!

Great people, great food, great place, great vibe.

This school is the most recommendable in Cartagena, I think! The prices are good, the teachers patient and experienced and the atmosphere is amazing: You can before and after the lessons relax in a very nice bar which belongs to the school.

Ken, the owner, is the number 1 kitesurfer of Colombia and really knows what he is doing! He's a very sympathic guy that never gives up on you ;-) He has good equipment and is actually the one who trained a lot of the owners of the other schools here, before!

And there was before a review that was imputing this school being a thief-school - but the story was totally wrong, the owner actually helped finding the thiefes, so don't get confused by that! We've lived here in the hostel for some time while learning kitesurfing and felt really safe and welcomed!

Guys were friendly and helpful, they give private lessons for a good price (120.000 pesos). Ken is nr 1 kiter of Colombia, and a patient teacher. English instructor also available. Definitely recommending a lesson from Ken.

NativoKite is a great place to learn to kiteboard in Cartagena.

The owner of the businessl, Sebastian, speaks perfect English and is ALWAYS willing to help. I was there when the corona virus got bad. Sebastian was at the hostel every single day making sure every guest was taken care of and had everything in order to get out of Colombia. He even offered to take me to the airport-although there was a travel ban- if the taxi didn't come to get me. Even before the virus, he was always going above and beyond to help those of us staying at the hostel or kiting. Having someone like that looking out for you is reason enough to stay and kite there.

I spent 2 1/2 months in Colombia on the Caribbean coast going from one kiteboarding spot to another. NativoKite was the best all-around place to stay and kite. I spent the majority of my time there at the hostal kiting every day.
I was there on and off from January to April. That whole time there were only 3 days when the wind was too light to kite.
I talked to a lot of riders and almost everyone said that NativoKite was there favorite place to stay and kite overall. Cabo for flatwater, Santa Veronica for waves, and for all around kiter atmosphere and a great place to kite, Colombiakite was the # 1 place I heard from people.
Every day you could kite 3-4 hours a day right in front of the hostel. Most days there was a down-winder organized as well.
You can live there really cheap compared to other kite spots along the coast.
The rooms are cleaned daily and the hostel was the cleanest that i stayed in while in Colombia.
A really good breakfast is included with the room. I'd recommend having fresh fruit, eggs, arepas and granola.
During the 3 months I was there, I stayed in all the rooms. Each room has a really nice balcony with chairs and a hammock that looks out over the beach and ocean. It's a great place to hang out with friends, dry your gear, and chill.
You can store your gear safely with the school's equipment.
You can walk to the beach with your gear and pump up, getting help from the kids. This was great for me because I didn't have to take a cab to the beach like in a lot of other places in Colombia. And, with the kids to help, you can just grab your stuff, go pump up and someone will help you launch.
There are 8-10 kids around to help launch, land and clean your equipment.
The beach is really long, the wind is side-shore, and the waves are fairly small-- making it the best place I found to learn to kitesurf in Colombia.
There were instructors there whose first language was Spanish, English, Dutch, and German. So it was easy to find an instructor you understand.
There is a bar right on the beach where everyone hangs out after kiting. It's fun to just chill there after a session.
The cons:
There isn't much to do in La Boquilla besides kite. There's not much of a night life in the area.
Same for the daytime, there isn't much to do. You have to pay $3,000-5,000 COP (about $1.50 USD) for transportation to and from Cartagena if you want to do normal tourist stuff or go shopping.
But, if you want to kite and hang with other kiters, this is the place to be.
