Historic. Not sure about nice. Sort of 'pretty'. Has nice views. Definitely worth a walk and to see and learn. Right near La iglesia La Ermita so you can easily combine the two.

The park is wonderful because being there there are very beautiful views upon the Ermita church and the city.

A historic bridge linking the center of Cali to the North part of the city since 1845. The bridge is named after Fray Ortiz, a Franciscan friar who worked on the construction for some time. José Montehermoso is the name of the driving force behind establishing the bridge. He dedicated ten years of his life to it. Strange why the bridge did not get his name.

Nowadays the bridge is not longer used by motorized vehicles, but only by pedestrians. A wise decision, though much of the free space is now being used by vendors of all kinds of stuff. I visited during the Christmas period and you could hardly move due to the presence of crowds of people.

scammers going on in and around the bridge so be careful. the most popular thing to do here is stand in the middle of the bridge on both sides and angle wise for great photographs

It is a quiet place to stroll in a group or couple, enjoy the afternoon breeze and sip a soda and eat Colombian food on the Cali River Boulevard.

I really like this bridge. It connects the Northwest with the Southeast of the city. Definitely the central spot to feel the beat of Cali, sample a cholado (syrupy iced fruit drink), buy a few gifts and take pictures from the bridge or the connecting Plaza of Poets and Simon Bolivar Park. You can hear the vibrant Cali River roar as it flows under the bridge.

Located near the Ermita Church and Bolivar Park, this bridge is beautiful place for picture taking . It crosses the Cali River. Located near it also are some Government buildings or offices. Behind these offices is the PlZoleta Jairo Varela and related museum.

The bridge is in the center of town where a lot of the government buildings are but from here you can walk to San Antonio or check out the newly made 'bulevar'. Near the foot of the bridge, there's a preserved archeological site that talks about the bridge/Cali's history. Good to stop and read about it for 5 minutes.

This use to be a terrible area to walk before. It was smelly, unsafe and not well cared for, but during the last 10 years the municipality has invested a lot of money on this area and the results have been quite good. The place is much more nicer than before and you will find more presence of the police in the area too, making it safer for taking a stroll. The place is super nice in december when the city hangs a lot of christmas decorations and lights in the area and I recommend you visiting it during this time of the year.
