I went with a friend who is into the people and culture of such crafts. She felt it was more of a marketing event than actual artesians with their wares. You can find all of these in the Alemeda in a store named "The Calenita",...More

I love coming to this place. There are various places to eat great tasting food, and enjoy the amazing view from this park. They also have numerous handcrafted items that the locals make.

GIFT IDEA #1: Go to the grocery store and buy the red eagle brand of ground coffee. It costs less than $2.00 USD and everyone, I mean, everyone who drinks coffee back home will LOVE this. I also recommend buying small bottles of olive oil,...More

What a great nights they have here every Thursday. Many people gather for a large circle Andes dance. It is very much fun to join, but watching is definitely a spectacle too! From 7-9pm including a break.

Just like any place in the world primarily selling souvenirs to tourists - it's up to you to dig through the mass produced trinkets to find the good stuff. It's definitely there, and it's very reasonably priced. There are artisans making things right in front...More

Advertized as a park for artisan crafts you will definitely find a great range of authentic and local crafts for souvenirs. There are a couple of bars at the top of the hill and other areas to get foods. BUT the big surprise and delight...More

pretty good place to go and walk, see and shopping. I would recommend do not go with kids since there is a lot of teens and youth smoking marihuana in the lower area of the hill. It was sad for me to see this but...More

A lot of everything on souvenirs can be bought here. People are friendly and not at all pushy. In a nice atmosphere you can walk by all the small shops and compare goods and prices.

We went there twice. The first time it was after 9 pm, and it was closed, the second time was in the late afternoon, and only two artisanal shops were opened. Maybe the best time to visit it is around dinner time..
