About
Celebrating the rich diversity of Cali, Feria de Cali (the Fair of Cali) is the largest party in this Colombian city. Cali is known as the salsa capital of the world (salsa dancing—not dipping chips) and this five-day affair has enough twisting and twirling to satisfy even the most particular of aficionados. What started the 1950s as the Sugar Cane festival has grown into a celebration of the history and culture of Cali and now includes a massive salsa parade, tons of tasty culinary treats and a demonstration of the locals’ cowboy skills. It’s a thrilling immersion into the flavour of Cali.

We spent 6 amazing days during the Feria de Cali.

We had tickets for 4 of the main events: salsodromo, classic car parade, old Cali carnival parade and super concert. I believe getting tickets from outside Colombia May be a little bit complicated. However, in our case (I’m based in Bogotá) h the process worked almost flawlessly.

I can imagine that logistics for these events are always difficult and this showed. Entrance to paid areas in both the Autopista de la Feria and the Stadium (for the Super Concert) were very crowded. There was a lot of pushing and confusion.

Once inside, however, we generally had a very good time. We wouldn’t return to the classic car parade, which we found underwhelming and slightly boring. We (however) enjoyed the salsodromo and super concert very much. The old Cali carnival parade was also interesting.

In addition to the “official” events, there are plenty of other parties and things to do in the city. We were never bored and the atmosphere was always lively and great.

The city and its main sights can get very crowded. However, we never had any problem and always enjoyed ourselves. Restaurants, bars, transportation and hotels usually did a good job despite the crowds.

If you love nightlife you will love the Cali Fair.
This is the event that almost every young person in Cali looks for. The huge support from the municipality push this event out of the charts when compared with other events like it.
You will find a lot of things to do, from classic car shows, horse riding parades, international food festivals, huge latin music concerts every day of the fair, well everything.
It helps quite a lot that the Feria de Cali starts just after christmas the 25th. of december and last until the end of the year. It is a week full of enjoyment where also many business work only half part of the day in the city.
If you like to dance and have lots of fun Cali is the place to be at the end of the year!

I'm from Cali, and going every year for the Cali Fair in December. I always go to see this show, and every time is better! If you're visiting Cali you have to go there: a very good selection of salsa and tropical music, salsa show and cirque. Everything is very well set up from the entrance to the exit ( do not foret to ask for you exit pass to the waitress before living!
5000 people are attending the show every single day during the fair and monthly every last Friday ; prices are OK and you can dance if you want.
