Hotels, tourist informations and everyone will not recommend you to go here, but it is the only living part of Barranquilla. It is nice, it is a bit dirty, it is cheap - it is perfect. If you do not visit the plaza you cannot really say that you have been to Barranquilla. There is a massive market and a church here.

It's interesting but the sorroundings are very unsafe. It's much better to go with someone from Barranquilla you can trust in.

It's been restored and it really adds a lot to downtown. The area around sells everything. It's really worth it to take a visit. You can take a taxi or a bus. San Nicolas used to be the Cathedral.

This is a beautiful place where is believed was the economical and social spirit of the city. Was the places where the first villagers of the city gathered for meeting praying. Was the damaged because of the lack of interest by the own people of the city. Now was restored, the plaza and the church, for everyone to enjoy it. A very nice place where you can learn about the history of one of the principal cities of Colombia...

Church San Nicolas is the old city of Barranquilla. It was recently restored and the Plaza was recovered from street vendors. It is a beautiful place to visit on the afternoons when the sun is not so hot, buy flowers, books and fruits. It is not recommended to go after dark. Church is not always opened.

This can be a refuge from all the activity on Paseo Bolivar at the back of the church... but most days just a large, sunny and empty plaza with stores lining the sides.

They made a great job restorating the city center of Barranquilla. They have amanzing “old” buildings and the Plaza San Nicolás with it's detailed painted and decorated church is just amazing.

The plaza is anchored by the Catedral de San Nicolas, which is a beautifully restored church. It is not open, however, so you can only take pictures of the outside. Surrounding the catedral, are a public market on two sides and small shops on the other two. It's good for a quick stop, but if you've seen a public market anywhere else in Colombia, this is no different.

This is one of the first churches built in Barranquilla and one of the oldest. Is in the center of downtown Barranquilla and has lots of stories to tell. Its architechture is fantastic and the square in front makes you remind of the old 1920's Barranquilla city.

Honestly, one of the dirtiest and unkept city squares I’ve ever visited. It is rather disturbing that the city council of Barranquilla allows something like this to even happen. Do not go!
