The whole place is entertaining enough for young children, the animals looked a bit sad if anything, specially the elephant but overall it's a quick visit that the young ones will like.

Go early if you are not a family though- because it fills up with lots of families with small children! Some of the exhibits were empty or being revamped- but we enjoyed what we did see and even though it is a small zoo- it was just enough for us to spend a few hours waiting for our hotel room... It was a very nice afternoon. A shaded walk in the zoo provided for a calming stroll within the city. We were there about two hours. lions, bear, monkies, birds, reptiles, . An eatting area also inside the zoo.

This is a small zoo but setup nicely. Could use more shade and greenery in the elephant and lions enclosure also refresh the water in the turtles and camine enclosure. Entrance charge is 11,000 peso Adults and children, 9,000 pesos adults 60 years and over.

The zoo is small but very interesting. It's great for kids because animals walk around like iguanas, peacocks, monkeys. You can actually get very close to the animals. You can walk it very quickly if time is tight or take your time and enjoy. I love it there and so do the kids.

The Barranquilla Zoo has been here for many years, and shows it's age. But, it is being modernized, slowly. It is a privately own zoo and depends on donations. But for a visitor to B'quilla it is a fine place to visit.

Being from New York maybe I'm spoiled but I am very aware of what malnutritioned animals (very skinny animals) look like in small cages. I loved to see the animals but it made me sad to see their environment the white tailed deer was even injured hopping around on 3 legs, the manatee had died, the monkeys had more space... More

This zoo was smaller than what I'm used to in Chicago, but it was still a great place. You're able to get pretty close to the animals. There are even a few freely walking around the zoo (lots of iguanas). My 2 year old daughter really enjoyed this.

This zoo made me sad. The elephant looks so lonely and had no shade from the sun. It was 32 degrees. The water in its enclosure was dirty and had debris in it. Most of the big cats just laying around, and the other mammals, weren't very active and some wandering in circles like the little bear and the Puma.... More
