Quiet place

It has a nice traditional Chinese garden. The building itself is worth spending some time studying. The collection is old and uninteresting unless you're into calligraphy.

I'm not much of a person who is into museums as I get bored very quickly. There are several rooms showcasing books and artifacts along with stories on the walls telling about the place and the man who owned the library "Fan Qin." The best part of being there for me was the gardens and the ponds. They are so... More

This library will take you away for one hour into what looks like 19th century china. The gardens are pleasant. A nice place to have a stroll if you have an hour's time.

This is really a huge museum and garden complex rather than a "library". Non Mandarin speakers will admire the tranquility of the grounds and the interesting architecture. The staff in the complex and the supposed tourist information booth outside were incredibly unfriendly and unhelpful.

This is a very important place in Chinese history. Great collection of books collected over the years. Priceless items. You can learn a lot when you visit this place. I recommend it. RomanP

I really enjoyed walking around the gardens and old courtyard style houses. It was quiet and peaceful. Had some interesting stuff to look at as well.

Initially, going to a library wasn't top on my list.....but I'm sure glad I did: a real gem of a place. Situated in the middle of downtown just west of the park the Tian Yi Ge is sprawling and well-preserved. The oldest library in Asia is a labyrinth of connected rooms and courtyards, each with a different feel and own... More

This is the oldest such library in China, and a rare gem indeed. Situated in a classic Southern China-style garden, people near & far come here to see the beautiful architecture and the quiet court that was once Fans family residence.

Worth's to visit as in this museum it has telling you the story for a private books collector and also a very beautiful landscaping. Unbelievable size for a house on ancients time..
