This is a wonderful facility. I wasn't able to fully enjoy all it had to offer as it was mainly a business trip. I liked that it was Pandas first and foremost. The grounds are well worth spending the day - beautifully taken care of. Westerners should be aware that the toilet facilities are more eastern.

We had an amazing time at the Breeding Research Base. Definitely go as soon as it opens, because even on a Tuesday, there were hoards of crowds when we left at 11am. It was so nice to see that many pandas out and about, especially the babies in the panda kindergarten. I wish we could have seen infant pandas in... More

IN my earlier trip 20 years ago , at Wollong Panda reserve , the Panda reserve guide allowed us to pose close beside a giant panda whilst he fed the big boy with bamboo shoot during feeding time. They did not have such a program now I was told. But we can still zoom in with our cameras. They are so big... More

There doesn't appear to be many pandas here at the moment. In fact I think we only saw 2/3 relatively large ones and 2 toddlers. I appreciate that there may have been more and that they were asleep somewhere, but was rather disappointed. On the other hand the red panda population appears to have increased since our last visit 10... More

Definitely go in the morning when they open. The pandas were very active and it's a great activity for the kids. Very clean, well maintained with beautiful grounds. The highlight was our daughter taking a picture with the year old panda which despite the cost is definitely worth the money since you take the pictures.

Well, that's OK. Most tourists come here but the Pandas are worth the journey. Such adorable creatures. A pleasure for all ages.

Well organized zoo, you get to see plenty of pandas close up, the fences are low so viewing is easy. Make sure you walk through the red panda enclosure and if you're lucky one will walk right past you on the track. The taxi touts are fairly intense at the exit, we took the shuttle bus back to chunxi road... More

I guess this is the world's premier location for pandas. The place is teeming with them. There are the standard black & white ones and red ones as well. I'm not a great fan of zoos. But this is a good one. The animals have plenty of space and (as for as I could judge) they looked content. They had... More

Second time here and always fun. Go in the morning. The pandas are more active. Children love this place.
